How many catches does Taylor juggle at slip? It's uncanny.
yea thats so true although he always manages to hold them and thats what counts. He has taken some beauts from juggling them so I wouldnt be teaching him to stop it.

I dont think the pitch has been made out to be that bad and I dont think it is too bad. The blackcaps did most of the damage by moving the ball through the air which has nothing to do with the pitch. It will be interesting to see if the aussies can get as much swing.

I reckon the pitch isnt anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Seaming around a little bit, but mainly it was pretty good.
Yeah I agree, really don't think it's that bad.

Of course, saying this does take away any excuses if we get bundled out for less than 200 tomorrow.

Well I feel australian cricket is declinig like the global economy. If new zealnd can post 300 + it will really go along way towards setting up a historic win for them.

It is interesting though... how many bad results either personally or individually before members of this Australian team have their places in danger, who are they, and how long do they have? Other than the obvious of Watson/Krejza.

katich would be the first to be under scrutiny, he's just that unlucky sort of bloke, like langer, he's had it his whole career... clark is getting that way a bit too, god only knows why, must be age and failing body/declining pace

Ponting if he has a bad series as both batsman/captain.

None of them look completely safe, may be except Hussey.

Hayden, Symonds and Johnson should all be made held accountable for the poor results. But the australian selectors have never had too make too many huge changes due to its strength and dominance. But teams such as South Africa, England have had to make those decisions and its about time the australians do too.

Stopped raining in Brisbane now.

I reckon the pitch isnt anywhere near as bad as people are making out. Seaming around a little bit, but mainly it was pretty good. Australia don't really have bowlers to swing the ball, so I fully expect it to look a lot flatter tomorrow...unless we bat like absolute ****e, which is likely.

If anything, I expect the wicket to be better for bowling tomorrow

Traditionally, the Gabba wicket is quicker on the second day and with the wet weather, it should have a lot in it

hayden will need to be dragged out, he will play until 40 if he's allowed, having said that, he may go out and bash another hundred in the second innings, he just doesn't strike me as wanting to quit anytime soon.

clarke, johnson and watson the only members of the team under 30, in fact, probably the only members under 32

Yeah, I guess I can see where you're going with Katich, but I think he at least has a grace period now that Jaques is out for a while. Personally, I wonder how Hayden long is going to go on for if he doesn't do well, although I think his ODI spot is under a bit more threat than his test.

I guess Clark and Lee, just due to their ages, must be in some sort of danger.

i think there's certain untouchables in this team leading up to the 2009 ashes regardless of results or form

ponting, clarke, hussey, lee, and to a lesser extent hayden and symonds
