BARNES OUT
That's an understatement. We should have lost by 3 or 4 goals, they had 20 shots to 6 ffs.Didn't see the match, heard that we basically didn't deserve it.

Made 3 good saves but a lot of Bahrain stuff was off. JC John missed an open goal midway through the 2nd half thanks to a shoddy bounce off the pitch.Yeah, heard that also.
Did Schwarzer have a good match, ie lots of saves, or were the Bahrain shots off target?
Yeah, but we won't. Recent histoy shows they won't, coz even if they're off their games, they generally scrap well enough to stay competitive. That's the spirit.
But from what i've heard, if we play like that against a real quality team we'll get the **** kicked out of us.
Imagine what it's like being English then.Nah look, I'm all for it, but this result just wasn't right. I literally feel dirty as an Australian. Just plain disgusting.
No he's not, he's played 15 games for Gala (scored 7 times as well). Played multiple times since his last illness hiccup as well.Kewell under done as well.
They're also better than us by some distance. I'm all for England bashing, but keep it where it's legit (like everything outside of football).Imagine what it's like being English then.
They have real pretensions to footballing grandeur.
I think that is something we are going to have to get used to, as AFC don't seem to be moving fast to ensure qualifiers are on International weekends. Though I guess the fact that all matches are on International dates it is atleast a start.Poor game eh. Probably not helped by the fact that some of the most important players in the team only had 2 days training with the rest (well that's how I understand it)
I don't disagree that it's something the players/management have to get used to, but imo there surely are better ways to approach/prepare for the match. Even if it does mean using a few more of the best A-League players (combined with those international players who have more than just 2 days to prepare). Obviously they aren't going to form our best team, but at least they're a better chance of working as a team.I think that is something we are going to have to get used to, as AFC don't seem to be moving fast to ensure qualifiers are on International weekends. Though considering Bahrain had 4-6 players out and don't have anywhere near the depth of Australia. That a very poor performance which ever way you want to look at it. Thats the beauty of Asia, no easy matches.
Not according to the last resultThey're also better than us by some distance. I'm all for England bashing, but keep it where it's legit (like everything outside of football).
Look, I hear what you're saying and ordinarily I'd be in full agreement with you, were you speaking about anyone else. They're also better than us by some distance. I'm all for England bashing, but keep it where it's legit (like everything outside of football).
