Play to start in about 7 and a half hours.

Currently raining pretty hard, I'm like 3km from the Gabba. :(
Rain Watch:

Still hosing down.

Better going Friday than today.

Can only see play happening post-lunch today.

Should be a full day on Friday and Saturday however. :)

How dare you !!
God knows how cold it is because I haven't stepped foot out of the house cos it's been throwing it down all day!!
lol

seriously though it is the worst time of year for rain in brisbane.

when i was wedded to the game, i used to get absolutely devo with the rain.

but i'm sure we'll get enough time to crush the kiwis.

Forecast for Brisbane doesn't look too bad after the first day. Should be enough time for the Test to reach a positive conclusion.

Was going to make the trek out to my folks place to watch this since they have Sky (and a shiny new LCD). Probably won't if it's just going to be rain-marred.

Nice sunny day atm. Can't imagine it will start too much after scheduled time today given that the drainage at the 'Gabba is excellent. Predict a late storm, so might get close to a full day's play.

Really hoping for an on time start. Not sure who I want to bat first. Part of me wants the Aussies to bat first as they make it a marginally closer contest should Martin, Mills and co find some much expected movement early on and nip a couple out. On the other hand, would quite like to see how NZ cope with the bat. I'm a fan of Jamie How, think he;s got a very decent technique and will be a decent batttle with the Aussie attack. Ryder at 3 may be quite interesting also.

Sweet!

Wonder how long it will be before I start wanting the rain to intervene...

Elliott is tipped to come in ahead of Fulton. Vettori's reasons are the batting needs reinforcement and the new guy will bat at seven. Now here's a thought; Fulton at three and bump everybody down a spot but with Flynn at six and McCullum at seven.

Fulton must have done something really bad to Bracewell or Vettori to get left out so often, wee'd in their cereal perhaps?

I disagree, bump everyone down a spot but Taylor, and bump Ryder down two spots. Some pretty intense disagreements there.

**** me that's so ****ing ******** I want to break something. Deadset ****ed up decision.

Edit: needs to reinforce the batting, **** me, so pick the guy who averages about ****ing 30 in First Class cricket over a specialist who ****ing averages over 40. **** off.
