Zaheer leaking runs like cxrazy. Dhoni should make a change here.
Won't happen, if Australia are anywhere near 320 odd with five overs to go expect a 20/20 style hit out.Pure hypothetical here, but lets say Australia bat amazingly from here, Hussey and Hayden make big tons, and the day ends with Australia at 5/350 or something.
Let's also say that India end up a handful of overs down on the over rate, say 5-10, theoretically depriving Australia of a chance at winning the match.
What's a reasonable response under those circumstances given what happened yesterday? Should Dhoni try and push the over rate up? And if he seems to be trying to keep things pretty slow, taking his time between overs, bowling seamers etc, should be be punished for going against the spirit of the game?
It's the last day, so don't they just play until 75 overs have been bowled, and then the last hour starts?Pure hypothetical here, but lets say Australia bat amazingly from here, Hussey and Hayden make big tons, and the day ends with Australia at 5/350 or something.

Should face amuch harsher ban than that potentially faced by Ponting but won't.Pure hypothetical here, but lets say Australia bat amazingly from here, Hussey and Hayden make big tons, and the day ends with Australia at 5/350 or something.

In this case Ponting would be congratulated and win sportsman of the year award.Pure hypothetical here, but lets say Australia bat amazingly from here, Hussey and Hayden make big tons, and the day ends with Australia at 5/350 or something.

Yeah but the thing is aussies won't even come close to the target..i reckon we should rub it in.Have some more conferences MSD!! you the man!!Should face amuch harsher ban than that potentially faced by Ponting but won't.
Pressure situation??Even if they had the best batsmen and bowlers, India will not become the dominant force in test cricket until their fielding under pressure is better than the local club side
Yeah but the chances of that happening at 11.45 pm when floodlights aren't used are pretty slim. It's the last day, so don't they just play until 75 overs have been bowled, and then the last hour starts?
Yes. He should obviously do it anyway and cop the penalty. But he should absolutely be fined/suspended. Unlike Ponting or Ganguly, it would be his first offense though - so I don't know what the rules state.Pure hypothetical here, but lets say Australia bat amazingly from here, Hussey and Hayden make big tons, and the day ends with Australia at 5/350 or something.

Why? It's his first time.Should face amuch harsher ban than that potentially faced by Ponting but won't.
whats the bet that Dhoni isn't thinking on exactly those lines? Why? It's his first time.
No they weren't. They were going for heaps of 1s and 2s..Looking at the Aussies batsmen atm they seem to be trying to hit every ball to the boundary, and imo that' not the right way to go given the field set-up, they should look to play it smartly and pick as 1's and 2's as possible and then look for a boundary in between.
