AWTA. Giving excuse for such a tactic is bs. It was good stuff. Test cricket is not just about a good RR always.
Yep, exactly. This is what separates Tests from the other forms; now we see what the Aussies will do in response to the tactics after lunch. Test cricket is a slow burn.

Well, no. It's up to the losing team to force the result. No one can play that tactic for five days - India still has to score a big total.
How the hell do you expect the trailing team to force the result when the opposition is bowling a foot outside off-stump with 8 guys on the offside??

Jnr.

 No, terrible stuff from India also. 24 overs is piss poor.
It's especially poor when there aren't many runs scored, and not many field changes too.

At least the Australians had the excuse of being smashed all around the park.

There was a series a few years ago where blokes had that many on the legside to contend with and they still found a way to score (even if they eventually lost). The Aussies have to find a way.

Haha worst blooke on here, welcome to the ignore list.
thats the only thing you can do :p .... i find 'welcome to the ignore list' funny as who would care being on some unknown guy's ignore list. it your ignore list, do what you like!!! and I haven't even commented on you, i wrote on Dravid being a liability. you jumped in and you kicked your self out of it :)

It's difficult - otherwise this tactic wouldn't exist. But its not impossible - they have to take chances to score, which the Aussies haven't done yet, and making them take chances to score is the point of the tactic.

That's the tactic. Why should Indians gift runs by bowling to the stumps? Runs are to be earned in cricket. McG used to bowl a similar line (although much closer to batman throughout his career.

And the ploy produced many pokes and atleast 2 chances. So cannot say it was defensive.

It is defensive, but to me there's nothing wrong with doing it when you're 1-0 up. The point is winning the series not some altruistic desire to save Test cricket by entertaining people.

as far as i m concerned, it up to Australia to make a match out of it as a draw gives India the series

Australia is still 210 runs behind with Watson, Haddin and White to follow. it still has some work to do .... on the other hand, a good session for India could get them into business

Interesting game on hands and with that I will hit the sack

Sehwag is again under-used as a bowler...

What's better for the Indians? Declaration or closure?

Yeah ****, lets go.

Or stand miles down the wicket McCullum style forcing Dhoni to stand up and then get reverse sweeping...

.
Yup Aussies would have to think a bit out of the box and probably maybe even take a few risks because their serious need to push the tempo of this innings.

P.S: Ball reversing = Trouble for Aus!!
