Well done Sehwag!

Surely shouldn't be opening the innings after bowling 40+ overs? Dravid should open and put Sehwag down to 3 or 4.
*cough**cough**cough*

Amazing how we've been let back into the series here. Obviously it's near-impossible especially as our bowling has been pretty ineffective all series, but you never know.

Who else would have bowled them though? Especially when Kumble was injured. Maybe 40 was a bit much though, yeah.
Oh yeah, I know he had to get through some overs (not today, though). I'd have shared them between he and Sachin at least. Either way, 40 overs was just excessive.

Haha, crazy.

Assuming India don't collapse (an assumption never worth making) and we don't have Adelaide 2006 on our hands, Kumble could, in theory, bat for 35 overs and score around 130, leaving Australia with a chase of around 210 with about 40 overs to go.

I doubt it though - this series is too important to Kumble. I wouldn't criticize him if he did and lost though.

Not Ishant's greatest match in his short career, 0/84 , dropped a vital catch that could have turned the match, messed up a few run out opportunities yesterday (3 or so iirc) and now failed as nightwatchmen.

True. But if he did, would he get murdered by the Indian press or do none of the players give a flying pig what the press has to say?

Terrible effort by Ishant here today. That dropped catch was one of the simpler opportunities in the match and his batting was pretty stupid. All he had to do was to duck and get underneath the short stuff. I guess when you're 8 feet tall it's tough to get under the ball and duck, but still he should've been ducking under the short stuff.

Australia and Stuart Clark carried out their plans to perfection so it's a well done to them. On the whole, I was very impressed with Australia's grit and determination today. They truly batted like champions and deserve to save this game. India most certainly don't deserve to lose after scoring 613 in the first innings, but with the way that they've fielded and bowled today without any spark or energy they've done themselves no favours and are extremely unlikely to win the game.

My tip is still a drawn game and India should be looking to bat out most of tomorrow.

They care, and probably that's another reason he wont. I'm just saying I'd personally be OK with giving the Aussies a chase like that. But I completely understand why you wouldn't being 1-0 up in a big time series like this.

India let off A LOT of extras it seems. Granted I wasn't watching the game live, but 28 byes! Was this due to unpredictable bounce on the pitch, I guess?

Was pretty much the unpredictable bounce yesterday. Today however, Dhoni must shoulder some of the blame. Some of the byes should have been straightforward collections at this level.

Nah, i don't think there's any chance of him doing that. Unless the dynamic of the match changes dramatically, India won't fancy going back into the field so soon after two full days out there. The only team that can win this now is Australia IMO, and they won't unless India have a huge collective brain fart.

India should have declared earlier they wasted more than a session on personal milestones, will more than likely cost them on a very flat deck.

They did not try to up the run rate at the end just plodded along, as if playing for a draw or assuming the aussies would collapse again.
DWTA and I don't think they plodded in the end. Kumble and Zaheer Khan were both batting aggressively. Will have to agree to disagree with you on this.

Always find these matches interesting, suddenly batting 4th becomes a huge advantage. Doubt I'll be up to watch the start of play tomorrow, but definitely hoping for Aussie to rattle the Indians - would love to wake around 8am, which I think is just after lunch, and see India about 6 or 7 down, just for interesting viewing

Terrible match for India. Barring a sensational collapse by the Indians, which look unlikely, this isgoing to be a draw. 3 catches dropped of a century maker. Dammit! Even a lead of 120 could have worked to India's advantage.

Watching the re-run on SSE at the minute (was in work today) - some shoddy fielding going on. I'd have caught those two drops from Clarke in the 90s.
