How about a debut for Badrinath with Dravid at the top? Mind you, I'd be happy with either option - may prefer Chopra just slightly.
Dravid is already not in the best of touches and so I wouldn't want to tinker with his batting position given he doesn't like opening. Chopra is a natural opener and the safest bet. He is also from Delhi and so would be fine batting with Sehwag at the top.

I agree, but callingin a ringer from outside the squad when Badri is already there can't be good for the bloke's confidence?

Maybe I'm just too much of a Badri slurper to want to see him miss out.

Would lol, so, so hard if Clarke fell in the last five overs.
It would be no loling matter tbh because if another wicket falls today then Aussies would be in big trouble, so therefore there is a serious need of a big partnership here between these two as the rest of the batting is pretty inexperienced, so these two would have to bat well.

I'm not sure how it doesn't? Mishra and Zaheer beat Ponting once every few overs, at least, it didn't mean Ponting didn't look set or looking towards a 100.
I guess that means every batsman looks destined for a 100 until he gets out.

I don't consider someone set for a hundred if they're getting beaten multiple times. Being set for a hundred means that you don't even look like getting out, and how can that happen if you're getting beaten regularly?

I am a Badri supporter too. However, it won't do his confidence bad despite him being the squad as it is an opener who is wanted atm. There is a big difference between openers and middle order bats in tests.

This distinction I do understand, however with his history of being overlooked I'm not too sure how he'd take it if the chance was snatched from his grasp like that. Hoping he's above that though.

To be fair, he had the chance to really press his case in the lead-up game to the tests and played dreadfully in both innings

True enough, but he's got a mountain of runs for TN which he can quite rightfully stake his claim for an opportunity on.

What he say? I've got a niece wathing Harry freaking Potter on the cable TV right now :(
It was regarding the Bee attack earlier in the day and how everyone went down on the ground, and said some funny stuff about both Billy Bowden and Aleem Dar.

After seeing Bowden down on the deck during the Bee attack

Shastri: Even Billy went down...

Nicholas: What do you mean even Billy went down, he was the first to hit the deck!!

Shastri: Yeah you are right Billy was not being silly there...

Then after seeing Dar lying on the ground in a casual manner

Shastri: Aahh.. yeah he is the cool dude, isn't he, he is seen it all, its almost as if he saying "come bee take me".

Not long to go in the day, must be just about time for the obligatory Clarke LBW dismissal.
