I'm not a huge fan of Johnson by any stretch but he's been comfortably Australia's best bowler this series both in how threatening his spells have looked and how effective he's actually been in terms of wickets, so a lot of the criticism he's been getting in this thread is unfounded at this point.

I still have the feeling the bubble will burst if he doesn't either become more accurate or start moving the ball a bit more but he's the least of Australia's problems at the moment.

whr does it say tht? :O

Edit: where u just refering to the hit run? i think that was all ok
"Gambhir brushed Watson as he ran the first then, then they collided as he turned for the second. Watson said something to Gambhir as he went past, and moved forward with his shoulder, and then when Gambhir turned he stuck an arm in Watson's chest. A bit of give and take?"

Normally that would get pulled up wouldn't it?

maybe gambhir would be in trbl there, but i think its all above board as a bowler can stand his ground.

i know man thats the dissapointing part for me because he just pushes it across the line and does pickup the wickets. i guess im just surprised at the wickets he is getting as his bowling doesn't really seem to be of the penetrating nature.

Are you kidding?
Chris broad is the match referee.
Would be interesting at what he does about australia's slow over rate today. My guess would be nothing.

Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about pitches; what do the people who do, here on CW, think is par score for India on this track? There is a possibility that this pitch is a turner because Cameron White bowled diabolically and couldn't have exploited the turniest turner that ever turned with his awful line and length.

agreed his line and length was abysmal. From what i've read earliar from the posters the par score seems to be 400-500

I cannot remember if I posted the article here on CW, but there was an article called Blueprint to rebuild Brett Lee. It emphasised that Australia are looking to reinvigorate the pace of Brett Lee through light upper body weights, strong lower body weights and great rest periods imbetween deliveries in the nets (among other things, which have slipped my mind). It does seem to have worked slightly, Lee has been up in the pace in this innings, getting up to 148kph in the large portion of the day which I have viewed, but it would seem that the major issue is not Lee's pace but that Lee's natural length is quite a short one for a bowler who is not 'hit the pitch' nor particularly tall and this can be a major issue for bowlers in the subcontinent.

So anyone think ponting might get suspended for overrates if this keeps up? it seems he cant trust his spinner(/s well he only seems to think he has one spinner in the side anyhow) maybe we will see some hussey action

Yea thats the problem his style work very very nicely in Aus but it seems quite dull and not very effective on the subcontinent pitches.

(yea sorry my post just seems to repeat what you have already said i know :( )

What the hell is Watson trying to do? bowling into the pads of these two... get a clue buddy. i hope its some ploy to get them into a false sense of security or something if not this is awful bowling.

ps. is it just me or is there no movement for the Aussies? not even seam? From watto and jonhson anyhow

Chris broad will sort it out at dinner with ponting tonight. They will discuss it properly so that nobody does anything about it.
