Johnson deserves a promotion in the batting order tbh, has looked very organised at the crease so far.

Cant criticise Clarke for this effort it's not his fault that wickets are faaling like nine pins at the other end

BTW, good to see Johnson showing up the top order - this is till a good wicket and there is absolutely no excuse for Australia's position
Not criticising him for this innings, as such. More at his other innings' when the game was actually on the line instead of when Aus are dead and almost buried. In this situation, survival is the name of the game so he really has only one aim. It's when the match is up for grabs that champions do the job.

As I said in the thread concerned, though, I'm sure he'll correct that facet of his game in time.

Do any of you guys think that this series is equivalent to the Frank Worrell series of 95' where Australia formally begun their dominance of world cricket to now India taking that crown?

I don't think India can claim the crown as they'll nearly be in the same position as Aus soon with a number of experienced and world class players retiring.

I think the crown will be up for grabs for a couple of years as India-Aus-RSA-Eng battle for top spot.

No

India has just been smashed by SL and had to resort to producing a dustbowl to draw with SA at home

Furthermore, a number of India's senior players have seen better days and with their retirement will come some pain

It's more a case of Australia coming back to the field

One point of obvious difference is the Windies lost that series at home, but certanly India are coming on in leaps and bounds and have been for some time. Their transitional stage is coming soon too though, but less with bowlers than batsmen.

Clarke should have been looking to tee off and looking to get to his century rather than exposing Siddle.

Indirectly meaning Aus is worse than Ind, SL and SA?
