***Official Australia in India***

The difference has been India's bowling and Australia's batting in the second test. The pitch had nothing in it and the game was destined for a draw. Australia managed to retrict India to 469 on a wicket where 600 wasn't impossible. Then, they struggled against the Indian bowling being all out for a low total they had no business being being outfoxed by the likes of Mishra who bowled very well.
As good as India' bowling might have been Australian plans to counter it in both the innings have been seriously poor, in the first innings Watto-Lee partnership and now in the 2nd innings Haddin-Clarke' partnership have proved that surviving out there wasn't as tough as the Australian top-order proved it to be.

Anyways this game is gone but all is not lost yet, we just need better planning and more importantly better execution in the remaining two test matches, but all these talks of dropping Lee are atrocious, ok he hasn't been setting the world on fire so far in this series, but he can come good anytime, he is a world class bowler and the most experienced bowler in the Aussie ranks, so i am sure he would bounce back soon.

I think if Aussies are really keen on keeping both Siddle and White in XI, then there is a case of dropping Katich and opening with Hussey and Haydos, but that could make the middle order a bit fragile though.

Why don't people give Australia a chance in this match? You'd think a team that has lost two series in an entire decade would bring about more optimism than this.

390/7 at stumps IMO.

How many series has India lost in India in the past decade? One against Australia and one against South Africa. Maybe another one I can't think of. 2-3 max :p

Something to do with it not being the same team, morale obviously being a bit low in the Aussie camp and half the side being out, I reckon. Call it a hunch. :p

Seriously, though, they definitely can bat out the day and having Clarke there will help that immensely. The longer these two are out there, the more likely it'll be too. Nothing wrong with the pitch so if India win, it'll be because they bowled well.

The all time classic hawk-eye extrapolation occurred in the 2005 Ashes

Warne clean bowls Strauss yet Hawkeye shows the ball missing the stumps

Unfortunately, as much as we'd like to remove human error from the game, that's part of the reason why the powers that be cant do it - it's simply not infallible
Tbh, i have no love what so ever for H-E, its good viewer guideline and interesting from a viewers POV but i don't think its too accurate, no matter what the physics behind its mechanics are, there is no way a computer can accurately judge at what pace or bounce or height a ball would have headed towards the stumps after maybe pitching in the rough or hitting some crack on the pitch, so its far far from a conclusive guideline for imo.

Why on earth would you drop Katich? He's been one of few batsmen in the Australian side to score consistently in this series.

That's an odd thing to say. If it was out after watching on replay, then he should have been given out.

It doesn't matter how it looked. Either you're out or you're not. If you are, then you should be given. If you are out, and are not given, then it's a mistake that should be corrected.

Besides watching on TV is a completely different perspective than watching it from the umpire's angle.

Yea, basically, it's many times more accurate than 50 year old tired eyes who've been out in the sun all day, but because umpires have this holy place in cricket, we must not do anything to infringe on their God given right to lord over every aspect of a cricket match.
The umpire does not have a replay, and I have noticed over the years, that what I think live is usually right, but not always:)

But if an umpire makes a wrong decision that "looks" right, it's still a crap (though understandable) decision. Same thing the other way around.
