I think Saleh was just PLUMB LBW (as plumb as you will ever get) to Ryder, but Asoka gave it not out cos he thought he hit it...tbh on first view I wasn't sure, but replays suggest it was out

jeez that's a worry on the first morning.....Oram bowled a bouncer to Saleh which only got up to thigh height and was actually on its way down when it reached the batsman

The commentators are very harsh on Saleh here....on second view, that was a half-tracker from Oram that got up to KNEE height, nevermind thigh.

Morrison and Yardley are now rubbishing him (and calling it a beautiful batting surface!), fmd that kept disturbingly low!

Ryder is actually bowling slightly quicker than Oram atm, the yorker he snuck through Saleh was 121kph which really means about 131kph with these radars :-O

13 off 16 overs lol. Annoying they're still only 1 down somehow.

107/2 by Stumps .. I'm Calling first
8-) Seriously what's with all these negative predictions about the defensive batting? As much as I wish Bangladesh to do well, I can't see them being any less than 5 down at stumps, if they bat out till stumps.

I retract my earlier statements and predictions. It seems these two will bat for all eternity.

I don't have tv coverage so can anyone tell me what the field placings are like?
Given how defensive the batsman are I'd have an all out attacking field and throwing up as many 'jaffas' as I can at this stage to try and get them to make a mistake hitting out.

Lunch, 1-34. They've survived after the early wicket and plenty of dropped catches.

Lunch also might be the catalyst. Can see them coming out afterwards and losing a couple of quick wickets.

To be fair they look like they could get out at any given moment really. Tamim looks better than Rajin though.

Gee Saleh looks aweful, 16 from 100-odd deliveries and hes not even close to convincing. My prediction for the rest of the day - Saleh will be dismissed early in the second session, Ashraful and Tamim will put on a reasonable stand before a few late wickets, ending up around 6/190.

Cheers, really can't tell much from Cricinfo.

Who looks more threatening? The spinners or the seamers?

Field placings from Vettori were initially a bit defensive for both Patel and himself - much more attacking towards the end of the session.
