***Official Australia in India***

Pretty disappointed. Australia the better team by quite a bit IMO. We kept ending the day very badly allowing the Indians to get a sniff back in it each day.

I think this match just went to show what Gilchrist meant to us. On these slow and low pitches, he would blast away putting us in a position to win when a draw seemed inevitable. Symonds would have partially done that job had he been in.

Cracking crackin match it turned out to be, realy happy that we got our traditional slow start out of the way and remained level pegging.

Think there's a lot of improvement left in our side and like has been said before if we get a chance to bat first I think we'll win. Can't wait for Friday.

Yeah, White got a bit choked up when he got surrounded by his teammates. Looked like he'd tear up but managed to fight them back and smile.

It must be said, I've never seen India as determined and as brave before. They were really determined in this match and it was great to see. Good result for us!

Kumble may be finished. Mishra or Munaf in Mohali?
Yea hope Kumble pulls out by the time the next game starts. I'd have Mishra in there (300+ domestic wickets @ 25 is a fantastic record) as I still have doubts over the fitness of Munaf to bowl long spells. Dhoni to captain with Sehwag his deputy - Ganguly and Sehwag will have to bowl more as well.

Day 5 and test summery

India gets out of the jail .... as I had said that in trying to shut the door for an Indian win, Ponting probably shut the door for his only win in this series!!! Being 1-0 with 3 tests to go at venues that probably will help India would have been better than going in with 0-0 with India likely to pick one of the tests of the next 3

As I had said that the middle order performances are like the game of musical chairs. it's like out of 4 seniors, 2 score 40s-50s in the first inning and then the other two do that in the 2nd, which doesn't help India's cause that much most of the time. India should be looking to get at least 350-400 runs out of the seniors in a game .... special mention to Ganguly, who came up with 2 gritty performances

The spinners have been poor and a big let down for India. Drop both would be the least thing to say

Fielding needs to improve

and kudos to Zak and Ishant: this has been their test :D

the team for the Ist-two tests has been announced but if i had it my way, i would field a line up like the one below at Mohali

- Chopra
- Sehwag
- Gambhir
- Tendulkar
- Laxman / Dravid / Ganguly
- Rohit
- Dhoni
- the best wicket-taking spinner available from the likes of Mishra, Nanda, Chawla, etc
- Zak
- Ishant
- Munaf

If the wicket is flat then play 5th bowler in form of the 2nd spinner

Nice record for haddin.....:)
This is the first time I saw Haddin thoroughly over a prolonged period. He was very impressive indeed as a wicket keeper. His foot work standing up was fantastic and he looks a very fine wicket keeper indeed. It was a tough wicket to keep wickets at. He always was in the right place and had his gloves in the right line and height as the ball should have been expected to go to. Thats the hal mark of a good wicket keeper.

I am very keen to see more of him.

I was disappointed at some of his appealing though. Evens ome of the bowlers (Mitchell particularly) appealed for absolutely ridiculous decisions. Once for a ball that moved considerably in the air and hit the batsman (I think Gambhir) at least 5-6 inches outside the leg stump (point of contact mind you) and on the full. He appealed ferociously and for long. It was something for which the umpire would have been justified in giving him a piece of his mind.

So overall who would people pick for the bowler of the match? Johnson or Ishant or Zaheer?
Ishant easily imo. As good as Johnson was, and Khan was excellent too. Sharma is just there all the time and always threatening. Love the guy tbh.

The was some quite hilarious appealing and so on on both sides. Johnson, Lee and Watson for Aus and Harhajan and Khan for India. And Sharma's send-off of Watson was quite over-dramatic. And yet it was all good-natured which was good to see. :)
