Good to hear Shastri giving a blast from the past, in talk of Gundappa Viswanath. Always wonderful to hear stories about that man.

Any reason in particular why Watson bowled before Johnson? Not watching the game today unfortunately :(
I think its got something to do with Watson being more able to bowl a stump to stump line and exploit any unevenness in the track, as compared to Johnson.

Anyways Tendulkar looking at his masterful best atm.

Yes, and also he seems to be getting the most bounce from the pitch for the Aussies:)

Bizarre lunchtime chat from Colville and Geraint Jones back in the studio, mainly seem to be concentrating on the fact that India may win.

On a slightly off-topic note... I can't believe one of the reasons Geraint Jones stayed in the side for so long was his contribution to the leadership group. Either he's very nervous on TV or that was a totally bizarre decision. He really doesn't seem to be saying anything particularly interesting.

It's a very generous declaration with a run rate of only 2.5 required

Basically only requires two batsmen to do little more than hang around

Not saying they can't win... I just don't agree with them portraying them as the favourites to do so.

299/80 = 3.75

The RRR is close to 4.5 now

If they extend play by 1/2 hr then maybe India have a chance

2.5? They need 300 in 83 overs. They need 3.6 runs per over. Currently, they need 3.9. Considering the pitch and the fact that Ponting can shut it down if they get close, India have no chance at winning. This isn't a generous declaration at all.

India winning is a theoretical possibility but thats what it is at best - a theoretical possibility.

They are likely to lose the game. With a superb batting performance, they will do a fabulous job to save it.

Winning doesn't just need batting out of their skins, for the wicket to play no tricks for most of the time, for Australians to bowl badly but also for Ponting not to be able to shut down the game if required
