I hope that's the case, because its just a shame to see empty stands despite such high class test cricket on show.
Yeah I know, but I watch Test cricket in other countires and it's even more pitiful with regards to the turnouts. Watch a South Africa home series or a Windies series and you'll see what I mean. England,Australia and India are the only places where you'll get consistently decent Test match crowds for 4-5 days.

So waitaminnit. You don't go to stadia to watch matches, yet have no qualms criticising people for not completely filling up a stadium for a test match?
Mate i was talking about people who flock to watch ODI and T20's, but find high class test cricket not good enough for them, but obviously mate i am not getting to ya, so there is no point....

Day 2

Bhajji and Kumble:
84 overs, 232 runs, 1 wkt  .... wait for the pitch to crumble, sons. may be then you will be effective like part-timers like Clarke and co would :p .... disgusting performances by ppl who like to think of themselves as top spinners *mad* .... where are Nanda, Mishra and Chawla?

430 is a nice score by the Australians. But considering the fact that likes of Dravid, Ganguly and Laxman are not that consistent and probably not likely to get a big score, 430 could do the job of the Australians

on paper: Dravid + Laxman + Ganguly = Ponting + Hussey + Clarke
in terms of output: Dravid + Laxman + Ganguly = Watson + Haddin + White

for India, it's probably up to the likes of Sehwag, Gambhir, Sachin and Dhoni to put on some big scores

Whatever it takes!!!
Dunno what the big fuss is all about. This Indian batting line up are not as good as they used to be... They can put in collective efforts and score a few runs now and then but the days of those big big partnerships are long gone... And Australia have the better fast bowling attack, better batting, significantly better fielding, fitness and running between the wickets... The only area where we may have an edge is spin and we have already seen how toothless our guys can look on a flat track.

But tbf to Kumble, he did bowl a number of wicket taking balls and was distinctly unlucky not to have picked up a couple of wickets...

On what paper is that? Ponting > Dravid. [Hussey > God, and Clarke > Ganguly.

Now now.. let's not get carried away......

You can flaunt the numbers all you want, but there is no way that Hussey is > AA... You, being a CWer, should know better than posting such sacrilegious stuff..... :@

May the glorious AA strike down his ankles with his vicious short deliveries!

I know that these guys [Laxman, Dravid, Ganguly and Kumble] are not cool enough for international cricket now. I have been saying that since the series against RSA, during the SL series and now. It pains to see India lose with these guys struggling and making the other team and their players look good, especially knowing deep down that someone else would have done a more decent job and given a fight

There would be instances were these guys will come up with good performances here and there and their fans will be like 'they are back' and say stuff like 'all those who thought that they were dead eat their words' but then the old story would continue, they would fail more often than they would succeed and make India pay the price for not being creative and daring enough

Most strategist will tell you that if you continue doing the same thing, you are likely to get the same result [which is what we are seeing for the the last 2-3 series]. To improve or get better results, one has to make changes and take some risks

It's the ability to take risks, make changes, be creative and know what lies in the future that separates the winners [like 5%] from the rest [like 95%]. It's painful to see that despite having the resources, Indian think tank be it in politics, BCCI, the selectors usually make up from the 95% and thus continue the mediocrity

Take top companies for example, do they design products based on what the customers want or do they design products based on what they feel what the customers would want? If successful companies did market research and made strategies based on that then you would hardly move forward and come up with innovative products. Take cellphones for example. They are pretty common now but if you had done MR at the time when they were not available, most ppl would have said it's not something they would use espicially considering its high price at that time] but design it and make it work and ppl will want one. Ask most ppl would they want to do 200 mph in a car and most will be like they are no roads where they can do that but design a sports car like Ferrari and you will have a waiting list for ppl wanting it!!!!

The selectors [or any decision making body for that matter], just like, the successful companies that know what the customer wants before customers know what they want, should know where a team is heading before most know that. If we are to have bunch of ppl, who see what the nation sentiments [the 95%] are and act accordingly then the result will usually be towards mediocrity than brilliance

just my 2 cents

He wont last a ball against AA..

There is a reason why debuted just as AA was dropped from the Indian side, ya know.... :p
Yup, Huss would have lost his mojo being anywhere near AA so he was better off delaying making his debut, direness is communicable in some cases, ya know.... :p

Anyone else think Watson looks scared at the batting crease? Not physically scared but worried about what's going to happen. You can almost sense his apprehension when he comes in at this level. I hope he kicks on but I think he's got some cob webs to clear in his head.
Yes, he looks pretty worried but I'm not sure how much is just concentrating and how much worrying. He's got one of those expressive faces. I expect it's a good part worrying, and if he gets going he'll probably be fine but until then it could be a struggle. Maybe if he takes a wicket or two tomorrow that'll get him going.

For me though... this is probably why I find him an intruiging player to watch more than lots of other Aussies. I mean... if I'd got my first game in three years after all those injury dramas and probably only a couple of games to prove myself, and then I'd had all night to thing about my innings, I'd be ****ting myself. Which is kind of how he looked. Whereas most other players look like robots. I quite enjoy the emotional element. :)

Haha, not cool enough?

Time to axe Stuart Clark then?
I will answer your pointless post with a pointless one ----> may be 'haha'

Or how about if I top you in mediocrity and pick out a word from your post [like you usually do] and make an irrelevant comment to sound funny like

haha, Axe, is that the deo brand? 8-)

:p
