***Official*** New Zealand in Bangladesh

Not Terrible
I'm not so sure about that - while it may have been due to the pressure Mortaza was building I thought the shots Ryder, McCullum and Taylor played were all absolutely dreadful.

And I find it hard to believe they felt that much pressure to feel the need to play those shots, as runs were coming freely off the likes of Rasel and Shahadat at the other end.
McCullum I reckon got out to the pressure and was doing his job.

Taylor was a shocker, and Ryder's was a bit of good follow up bowling in my books.

Remember McCullum wasn't getting any strike vs. those two, he was on 1 (14) or something. That wicket falling wasn't the problem he was trying to make the most of powerplays, had already set a foundation and the collapse was far from his mind.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Congrats to Bangladesh, they outplayed us entirely. Don't believe it was simple as we played awfully, and we have to give the Bangladeshi's credit. Good on them :) hope this series gets closer, as we were belted there. Hopefully NZ to win the next one meaning the third match won't be a dead rubber!

Well...fair to say I didn't see that one coming. Credit to Bangladesh, by far the better team on the day with the bat, ball and in the field (even in that area New Zealand were strangely average). Second half of the match wasn't any better than the first. Gillespie bowled well in his final spell - after the game had been all but wrapped up - but was otherwise hardly threatening. Mills seemed down on pace. Oram and Styris I thought bowled well in the conditions and were unlucky - Styris' dropped catch off his on bowling was crucial in the end, with Siddique adding another 40 runs or so. Southee and Vettori seemed a bit subdued at the bowling crease with neither dominating, particularly strange that Vettori was so ineffective given the way the Bangladeshi spinners went about proceedings earlier.

Haha in all seriousness, actually liked the fact we lost. Gives us an opportunity to see where we're going wrong rather than stumble blindly into the Australian matches.
Maybe the loss isn't so bad in some sense - at least it ensures we'll head into the remaining matches under pressure to perform, which will surely raise the intensity, and that can only be positive with Australia just around the corner.

Yeah that's a good point, but there's a lot of ground to make up in only a short time before the 2nd ODI.

Elliott & Patel absolutely have to come in IMO.
