Played U19s for Australia. Scored a massive amount of runs captaining Sandgate-Redcliffe last season.

Carseldine is much better though.

I'll back you on Steve Smith there. But I can't see O'Keefe every being more then a bits and pieces player. Never will be good enough to make it as specialist batsmen or frontline bowler. Though the talk is we going to play 3-4 spinners this season in both forms due to lack of pace depth after the top 4-5 guys. So he might get a decent run and he meant to be bowling well during the off season. Also the likes of Robson and Burns are really on par when it comes to pure talent. O'Keefe edges them on experience atm.

Dan Smith opened for the most of last season. Had no success, but I expect him to be given another run as opener at the start of this season. Would rather Forrest open as that his best chance of ever making it as OD player, but I can't see it happening.

Smith and Lambert would be useful down the order, but are pretty useless at the top against any half decent seamers.

This would be my side in batting order:

Hughes, Forrest, Steve Smith, Thornley, Warner, O'Keefe, Dan Smith, Lambert, Hauritz, Bracken, Cameron

I have huge expectations from Steve Smith, he is young but from whatever i have seen or read of him, he comes across as a tremendously talented player, but only thing is i hope he doesn't go the Cameron White way by ignoring his bowling for his batting, as unlike White he has got some bowling talent there and on top of that he is pretty good with the bat too, so he surely is a superstar in the making.

I don't think White ignored his bowling for his batting. I think he possibly ignored it somewhat for the captaincy though. I'm pretty sure he was hesitant to use himself in a game as much as he would've been used under another captain.

Smith overall is more of batting all rounder then bowling all rounder. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes down the White path and ends up playing as specialist batsmen that bowls. He has shown potential with the bowl in the limited overs cricket, but I still have question marks over him being a front line bowler in FC cricket.

He probably doesn't do enough with the bowl to be a front line bowler in FC cricket. Though there not that many spinners in Australia right now that do a lot with bowl. And the ones that do have little accuracy. I guess we will get a better idea if MacGill retires as he is first choice to replace him, over Haurtiz, mainly due to his batting though and the lack of Haddin in the middle order.

No for NSW, yes for the Vics, no for QLD and yes for WA.

WA look better to me this year than before. The veterans would never perform and bit part players like Wates, Ervine and Gillies did more harm than good. I like the look of the side this year and there is more depth to cover for injuries than most people know. I'm hoping Liam Davis gets a chance to showcase his wares more for one thing, and Matt Johnston is an underrated bat too. Both are coming off hundreds for their grade sides last week. I also hope Doropoulos turns out to be better than those bit-part all-rounders we've had too many of in recent years.

SS is out of Vic and WA for mine, while the FRC is out of the same two and possibly NSW at a stretch. Really don't rate NSW this year.

Left hand opening bat. Very strong square of the wicket through the offside, more of an offside player in general really.
