Cricketer Of The Year
What about Gavin Hamilton? He must have had a pretty crap FC record when he played his test for England.
Why? He had been amazing the season beforeWhat about Gavin Hamilton? He must have had a pretty crap FC record when he played his test for England.
Nah, not at all. Hamilton was a bit of a Darren Pattinson - had really barely played at the time he was selected. Only played 12 matches for Yorkshire between 1994 and 1996, and had just 3 seasons as a regular (1997, 1998 and 1999) when he was picked. What about Gavin Hamilton? For some reason I always think that he was selected at least as much, if not more, as a batsman than a bowler. My bad really.Nah, not at all. As a result, a couple of outstanding seasons pushed his record to excellent proportions indeed. His batting-average for Yorks was 30.01, his bowling-average 25.00. It's just a shame he lost it so soon after that England tour (was only able to bowl passably for another 2 seasons) and hence never got another shot. Hamilton was a very talented cricketer.
Yeah, I saw that now I looked him up on cricinfo. I should always consult cricinfo before I post really... but I can't always be bothered.Hamilton was always much more bowler than batsman. He batted eight in his only Test.
Tbh, if Hauritz wants to resurrect his FC he needs to move elsewhere, maybe Victoria or Queensland, because can't see him getting a chance to play in too many FC games with MacGill and Casson around.Hauritz really had no other choice. After returning from India he had a shocking series for QLD, and towards the end of the season he was dropped. He had to go somewhere. He actually wasn't contracted to NSW, but moved there anyway and ended up with a contract. A bold move given they had just recruited Casson from W.A. Early on in his career before Dan Cullen came on the scene he was offered a contract with S.A., but declined. Can't help but think if he had of taken up the offer, he could be a totally different player right now, especially given Terry Jenner works very closely with S.A.'s spinners (not that he's done much for the Cullens).
But, definitely agree with you in regards to our ODI spinner, he really should be fist choices. Almost head and shoulders above other OD spinners in the country, and is more than handy with the bat.
Haha. I really, really hope you're right. I've spent enough time defending him on here to know I'll look like an idiot if he plays and gets absolutely smashed, even though I've always known it to be a possibility.Jason Mendis Krejza will come good soon

You support the Tigers, right...??Jason Mendis Krejza will come good soon
Don't think MacGill has decided whether he's going to play on or not yet. Even if he does, it wouldn't be for long.Tbh, if Hauritz wants to resurrect his FC he needs to move elsewhere, maybe Victoria or Queensland, because can't see him getting a chance to play in too many FC games with MacGill and Casson around.
Tassie Tigers? You support the Tigers, right...??
I've always rated Krejza to an extent. Not as Test standard, obviously, but as someone who could do much better at First Class level and if he had better surfaces to bowl on and was shown more faith. Being selected for a Test series in the subcontinent shows immense faith in someone with such a poor record as well as providing better surfaces for him to bowl on, so if he bowls like he did today (again), I'll end up looking quite the fool.
You are betting on a dead hound to win you a race tbh.Haha. I really, really hope you're right. I've spent enough time defending him on here to know I'll look like an idiot if he plays and gets absolutely smashed, even though I've always known it to be a possibility.
Yeah i was taking about Tassie Tigers, as you seem to rate George Bailey and now you were backing Krezja to come good, so i couldn't help but ask.Tassie Tigers?
I do have a few players I really like from that state, but I don't actually go for them no.
