It's hardly a new theory.shaka said:interesting theory from Bracken: Mints caused the reverse swing that won England the Ashes this year!

Not the most convincing denial from Jones....greg said:

"It's probably just sour grapes and are you telling me that they've not done it?" questioned Jones. "What's happened on the field, happened on the field and I can't believe he's made that comment. I can't believe that a guy who didn't even play in the series has come out with such a comment.
"If he'd been someone that had played in the series then fair enough because he might have seen something in the field."
I don't think you had to be on the pitch to hear Gilchrist's comment - the whole world heard it!jlo33692 said:That is what it should be slow love, what s said on field should stay on the field.
But one question about the whinger Fletcher, was he on the field to hear all these comments supposedly made by these bad talking aussies that he is detailing in papers(helping bring undone a great series)? No!!!,so what said on the field obviously doesnt stay on the field as far as the english players are concerned ,so its a bit rich Jones saying that ,dont you think?
Do as i say not as i do comes to mind.hahahahahaha

Yeah...I'm actually predicting a ground covered in cricket balls when the English team step onto the Gabba to practice for the First Test 2006Jono said:Stupid to predict seeing as instead of McGrath, it could be Flintoff in 2006 stepping on a ball on the first day of a test match injuring himself. So its much too far away to predict with way too many variables.
Same here.BoyBrumby said:I predicted 3-1 Oz before this year's Ashes, so I confidently predict 3-1 to Australia in 2006/7!![]()
Great to see you back, LuckyEddie. Thought you may have passed away from alcohol poisoning following the Ashes triumph.luckyeddie said:Same here.
Put me down for 3-1 to Australia (again) - and I hope that I remain as astute a judge of cricket as ever.
The last few weeks has seen me unable to get access for one reason or another, consequently I've missed out on quite a lot. Anyway, the Ireland contract's finished, my holiday is over and I'm back home again.howardj said:Great to see you back, LuckyEddie. Good shout.Australia 5-0![]()
It seems that actually he did indeed say the latter rather than the former.Slow Love™;623900 said:Not the most convincing denial from Jones....

Think it was New Zealand TBH, though that may have been 2004.Did England win the ICC Spirit of Cricket award in 2005?
Did I actually say anything about Jones? I don't recall. I thought my post on the subject when the mints thing came to light was about (obviously unjustified) media criticism and criticism of Bracken by posters on here. Could be wrong though.Basically the same thing - that Jones looked a bit dodgy now having said "we didn't use mints". Seems he never actually said such a thing at all.
Although IIRR it was more like Bracken suggesting it happened ITFP, and Jones coming out with that comment.Yeah, that's the real story here. People came down hard on Bracken on this forum for it as well. Turns out he was right...Didn't Simon Jones come out and deny this, and get really pissed off when Bracken suggested this was true?
