South Africa A once again need over 300 to win...

Sri Lanka A 301 for 6 (JK Silva 126, SHT Kandamby 88, Mbhalati 4/55)
http://content-eap.cricinfo.com/southafrica/engine/current/match/362864.html

So much for the talk of Johann Louw being South Africa’s replacement for Polly. Hasn’t got a wicket with the new ball all series, just gets tonked, doesn’t get wickets with the old ball, just gets tonked. And Wayne Parnell is given the axe, despite having the best economy rate of any South African seamer...

Sri Lanka took the fourth game and subsequently the series by 81 runs...

RSA A 220 (44 overs) (Bodi 74, Rusty Theron 41, HMRKB Herath 3/26, UWMBCA Welegedara 2/31)

5th game is currently going on at Willowmoore Park, Benoni...

Sri Lanka A won the toss and elected to bowl

RSA A 294/7 (Virus Petersen 114, VB van Jaarsveld 106, Isuru Udana 2/50, RAS Lakmal 2/61)

And VB's ton is his first in limited overs cricket.

South Africa A were all set to take the fifth unofficial ODI by a healthy margin after Wayne Parnell left the visitors reeling on 94 for 6 but then South Africa were forced into bringing the likes of Thandi Tshabalala into the attack, as seamer, Rusty Theron broke down after four balls - Sri Lanka’s Thilina Kandamby and spinner Rangana Herath outrageously replied by putting on a stand of over 200 in little less than 29 overs, taking the game eventually with ten balls to spare and giving Sri Lanka a 4-1 victory margin and South Africa A an embarrassing drubbing.

Sri Lanka 297 for 6 (Kandamby 128*, Herath 88*, Parnell 4/54)

Don't think many of the A boys have done themselves any favours for the forthcoming Kenyan and Bangladeshi one day series. Wayne Parnell has already been invited to train with the Proteas for the Kenyan games (as has Dean Elgar) but I don't think Mickey Arthur will bother with anyone else on the basis of these performances.

Why whould he bowl seam? I cant think of any circumstance when it would be a good idea for an international spinner to bowl seam up

Sorry I'm slightly intoxicated. I should have said Thandi came into attack to bowl off spin as seamer, Rusty Theron had broken down after four balls.

With the Titans, playing a 20/20 against Victor Matfield’s Blue Bulls.

Haha, to think I labelled a previous match as madness. Herath 88* from 76 balls is tough to comprehend, though as you mentioned Theron broke down after bowling only 4 balls. Tshabalala to the scrapheap

Madness. Found out where Van de Merwe and Wiese are?
Here here. After Van Der Merwe did so well last year domestically and how well he played with the Academy, you would think SA A would be the next step.

Tshabalala to the scrap heap. Time to give Tsotsobe a go.

Haha, well done. Herath's highest FC or list A score.

TT mentioned earlier that Van de Merwe was a favourite of Mickey Arthur's, perhaps his exclusion was at the least a contributing factor for these comments

Could be a tough year for Thandi, likelihood now that the Eagles have signed Con de Lange is he will probably have to start the season playing provincial cricket for the Free State. Unless quotas/targets dictate that he has to be around in some capacity but from my reckoning the Eagles have the sufficient number of players of colour (Bosman, Bailey, Mpitsang, Hendricks et cetera) to not include Thandi.
