*Official* English Football Season 2008-2009

Damn you, Everton. Arteta and Yakubu are in my fantasy team. 3 points between them this week.

However, Stilian Petrov pops up with an assist for Villa, and Man Utd still haven't conceded, so that makes it a solid week for me so far.

Really bad miss by Muamba though. Should've been so different.

EDIT: That Ronaldo penalty was just wow. Rob Styles should be shot in the face for that.

Scouse derby about to kick off. Curly perms, 'taches & shell suits as far as the eye can see.

Divided loyalties in Clapo's, er, well, mind I suppose. Suspect he'll take yer Toffos this time because of the Cahill-factor.

Score draw for mine.
:Trying to think of a witty retort here, and struggling. Everton are ****e aren't they?

BTW there were some stunners scored at PP last night, unfortunately mostly by the opposition :@

Bad defending for those Torres goals TBH.
Absolutely. The space he had for the first was scarcely credible. Kuyt made a great run to draw Lescott out of position, but where was the rest of the defence? Comedy time. Toffos were equally dire going forward too. Not much to recommend them as a team just now.

I suppose the media will now move on from saying United's season is over to saying Arsenal's season is over, I mean this, on the BBC, is absolute bollocks:

"... and they might just have produced a terminal blow to Arsenal's Premier League title hopes."

Errr no, they have 32 games left ffs. If they don't win the league (and admittedly I don't think they will, though they've a chance) it will not be due to this result.

I've just been talked in off the ledge.

FFS Hull. I wish you well & all, but winning at New Highbury? You go too far, sirs.

Equalled Derby's points tally for the whole of last season after six games. Fair effort from the Tigers. ****s.

You watch the game, Brumby?

Strange start this from Arsenal, losing to Fulham (wasn't that at home as well) and now Hull, but looking bloody good elsewhere.

At this early stage I would have my money on Chelsea. Liverpool look decent but I doubt they'll keep it up, and of course United have looked average (compared to their previous standards) but will obviously pick up.

Now that I think about it this season has started quite similarly to last, think Halsey might have pointed this out to me recently mind you.

The opposition they have faced has been rubbish, as well. IIRC, two newly promoted sides (WBA and FC Hull), two sides who just scraped safety last year (Fulham and Notlob), a club in turmoil (Newcastle), and Blackburn. Don't remember the Blackburn game, not sure I even saw the goals, but I think I do remember TT Boy claiming that whatever the result was flattered Arsenal.

No wonder they got beat if the other team were picking up the ball to run with it!
