I don't think anyone mentioned that Warwickshire clinched the Division 2 title yesterday - and of course, that the two sides that won promotion are the two that were relegated last year.

I'd imagine Durham will belt as many as they can for the next session, rather than declare imminently. They'll likely need the extra runs, even if they don't they will still win.

Truly massive partnership for the zydermen, maybe the biggest partnership in 126 years. Not over-hyping it or anything  Really need Blackwell & Kieswetter to get all the runs as there ain't much to come after them.

Sussex on course to be champions again!

Here's how:

Sussex make 400 and win
Notts - Hants draw, but Notts bowl their overs very very slowly incurring points deductions.
Durham and Kent draw, but Durham bowl their overs very very slowly incurring points deductions, and are also penalised for a dodgy wicket.
Lancs beat Somerset, who bowl their overs slowly incurring a point deduction.

So the final table would be:

Sussex 173
Somerset 172
Nottinghamshire 172
Durham 172
Lancs 170
Hants 168
Kent 156
Yorks 150
Surrey 124

Norwood's on Fire
But at least that was a Saturday and it was on the telly!
Was gonna say, are none of these games being shown???

Super busy in work today so haven't been able to check in at all. Think that might actually be a good thing, mind you!

Notts game on Sky Sports 1, with frequent updates from Taunton.

Makes me wish they showed more CC cricket really.

This is fascinating stuff. I didn't really take that much notice of last season, unusually, so didn't experience the finish which happened there.

Middlesex and Essex have those games about as wrapped-up as you can get, but UIMM nothing much is riding on them. Likewise Derbyshire's middle-order has wasted the chance Stubbings and Borrington gave them of dictating that game there and they should lose to Leicestershire. And Lancashire still well on course to beat Somerset, though they'll take nothing for granted. Yorkshire still on top against Sussex too, but they've gotten closer than I was hoping they might at 23 for 3.

Durham currently well on top against Kent but hopefully Kent can dig deep into their deep batting to put-up about the first decent display against Durham's attack anyone's managed this season. Likewise Warwickshire in position of great strength in another irrelevant game.

Hampshire-Notts is one hell of a match though.

Kent finally managed a seventh wicket, not sure if that gives them another bowling point but if so they've moved above Sussex. Sussex at 166-6 really ought to make it to 200, but a wicket now and it could all go pear-shaped.

Somerset almost down and out - I doubt if Lancs would find a target of 150-160 plain sailing, but you'd have to back them at this stage.

And Durham have declared with a lead of 275.

Sussex make 200 and a truly vital batting point. That means that we stay up if
(a) we draw v Yorkshire or
(b) Kent lose v Durham

And Chubb Key is already out...

Kent appear to have thrown in the towel like they did at Liverpool - they obviously don't like northern sides in September
