Mate seriously what are trying to put through in this case, Symonds deserved this punishment and if Clarke and Ponting are criticising his behaviour, then its pretty clear that he needs to sort some things out, whether that means visiting a phyciatrist i don't know about that, that's a call that needs to be made by Symonds himself, to Symonds' credit he hasn't repeated any of his previous mistakes, but somehow he finds ways to get himself into trouble, that's something that he needs to put an end to.
It's pretty simple
The only people that we've heard from to date are people with a vested interest in sticking the boot in.
Some of the journos love having the opportunity of knifing somebody that they perceive as being arrogant.
The people around the team, unless it really is a tin-pot operation, will have been briefed by CA (and they in turn by lawyers and pr people) as to what they should and should not say.
Why?
Because the suspension of a highly paid employee is the stuff lawyers dream about.
So excuse me for being a cold-hearted cynic, but I dont believe all is as it appears
In any event, serious questions have to be asked of the so-called leadership group.
They knew Symonds was going on a fishing trip
They knew his history
Unless this has been a total knee-jerk reaction, they knew he was skating on thin ice
In those circumstances, I would expect my managers to be proactive in their attempts to see that rules were adhered to.
If they tried and were ignored, so be it
However, if they simply handed him a loaded gun and allowed him to shoot himself, then they are as guilty as he is and heads should roll
