And has anyone seen a series of wrestling shoots by this Canadian TV show called "Off the Record?" Discovered these the past few days and honeslty they have to be the most franka dn interesting takes on wrestling you can find online. They get a lot of heavy hitters on their show with guys like Vince, Bret, Taker, JR, HBK, Triple H all making appearances on there.

Seriously recommend these especially seeing the Bret interview and the HBK one where he responds directly to the criticisms. The JR one is awesome too.

Got to be honest, the thought of 20 minutes of Brian Kendrick, MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Jeff Hardy and HHH is enough to sell me on the entire PPV on its own.

I found out about them around about 2003 - 2004 and they were some of the most fascinating shoot interviews I've ever seen. The host can be annoying sometimes but he's not afraid to ask the tough questions to people (ie. Asking Triple H how he feels about people saying that he buries talent, asking Chris Jericho about his up and down relationship with Triple H and ofcourse covering the Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels saga).

I'm sure there's still plenty of clips on Youtube. Definitely worth watching if you're a fan. Just to be noted though that most of the WWE interviews on the show are filmed in the period of 2003 - 2005. Some are newer and some are older but they are still worth watching.

The RF and ROH Shoot Videos are really good too. The Christian Cage shoot was an excellent one as is any RF or ROH Shoot Video with Raven. Raven always comes across as a really intelligent guy when it comes to the wrestling industry and some of his insights about the industry are fascinating.

Can't wait for that match! Will be cheering on MVP and Brian Kendrick all the way!

I actually think MVP has a half decent chance of winning the WWE Championship. The guy has done everything else and has got nowhere else to go. I can see a Triple H vs Great Khali feud continuing based on what I saw on Smackdown this week.

A potential Great Khali interference which allows MVP or Brian Kendrick to pull off an upset victory? It's certainly possible.

Doubt they'll put it on Kendrick, MVP definitely the most likely candidate out of the lot if it is going to go to someone else. Don't think they'll put it on Jeff Hardy even though that would be gun as well (man imagine how awesome it would be if Jeff took the title and Matt Hardy eventually takes the ECW title off Mark Henry and then they do a repeat of that Champion vs Champion vs Champion match at Cyber Sunday, The Hardys and CM Punk all going at it, that match would be god damn awesome).

But yeah MVP is one of my favourite guys at the moment, the amount he continues to improve in the ring is amazing and I'm so glad he got rid of that godawful finishing move. The Drive-By kick is pretty cool and has good potential to be one of those 'hit you out of nowhere' moves. Would not mind him winning it at all and then moving on to that feud with 'Taker that has been speculated.

Smackdown was gun today as well, so many good matches. Really like Festus as a big guy and the match between him and MVP was good. Shelton getting a bit of mic time before his match was nice too, and his speech about Michael Phelps was really well done, and then Benjamin/Finlay will always be a match I'd want to see. And then I dunno if you guys outside of the UK get the matches from the Vault but we got Ric Flair vs Chris Jericho from Unforgiven 2002, and Jericho/Flair is something I could never turn off. Khali/Hardy wasn't a bad match either I thought, I think Khali is unfairly maligned by a lot of people, especially people who chant crap like "you can't wrestle" at him. The man went 10 minutes with HHH at Summerslam, and considering how poor his English appears to be to be able to get in there and work a 10 minute match without botching anything is a ****ing hard job tbh, even if the WWE do limit his moveset to their typical big man move set. Plus considering the size of him and his popularity in India i'm sure if he wanted to he could refuse to be used like he is but he's constantly jobbing clean to people and putting them over and I've never seen any reports about him complaining about it, he plays a not so prestigious role and he does it pretty selflessly and I commend him for that.

Triple H on SD! said it almost a guarantee that he won't walk out of Unforgiven as champion. Ah well, that's that then. Not the worst SD! in the world but the fact that none of the scramble pretenders were booked so that they won clean isn't the most promising of signs for me.

Landsberg the host can be annoying but he pulls no punches with what he wants from his guests and I guess he wants as much as possible as he can squeeze in a 22 minute show.

I loved his HBK interview. When asking him if the screwjob was wrong Michaels went with the whole "Bret didn't do what his boss wanted him to do" then going and quoting the bible saying "The Bible says this: You submit to authority."

To which Landsberg replied "Ok, so would rather turn in the title than lose it in the ring? That makes it okay?" The look on Shawn's face was priceless, no-one's ever been that in his face about it on air before.

Wow, John Cena out indefinitely with a serious neck injury.

Feel sorry for the guy, hope he comes back soon.

There are plenty of Cena haters out there (none on here thankfully) and they should all watch tonight's RAW. Take him off the air and the show had nothing, he carries it much like Edge carries Smackdown and with the two of them off the air it's half as good.

Get well soon John and enjoy your rest Edge, WWE needs you badly.

Terrible thing to happen to John but he's been wrestling continously for so long. This injury no doubt is due to the constant bumps and wear and tear wrestlers face. Wrestlers in the main event especially have so many house shows, PPV's, television, international tours and the like. The body needs time to heal and I think this is what's best for John. I'm glad that Edge got time off as well since he's carried the WWE over the last two years.

Raw looked pretty ordinary apart from the Jericho/Michaels promo and the opening match between Punk and JBL was pretty good. Other than that it was pretty forgetful.

Yeah was gutted when I read about his neck, always a **** thing to happen to a wrestler. Hope he takes a proper rest this time instead of killing himself to get back like he did with the torn pectoral.

Finally got round to reading A Lions Tale by Chris Jericho the other day, quite a good easy read, after two days of reading I have about a quarter of the book left to go, good stuff (Y).

Interesting to discover that one of the people he likes the least in all of the industry is Vampiro. Also makes an interesting point regarding having to job...

During my career, I developed a reputation for being able to make guys look better than they really were. That skill came from working with guys like Mil Mascaras. I learned that if you make your opponent look better, it makes you look better. If you can become a ring general, you will always have a job within the wrestling business. Unfortunately it's likely that you will always do the job as well.
Sad, but that seems to be truer for him than for anyone else I can think of.

Apparently Cena should be able to return way quicker than expected, around 2-4 months which is good news for him.

It's a very Stu Hart dungeonesque trait. A lot of guys like Jericho didn't get as far as their talent deserved because of it. Names like Bulldog, Owen, Jushin Liger, Lance Storm, Brian Pillman, Benoit etc.

Disappointed to hear of Cena's injury, TBH, whatever you think of the guy he has been the one holding RAW together for the last two years. You've only got to look at how samey things became during Orton's title reign to know that without Cena, RAW is nothing. Very glad to hear that it's not as bad as first thought, and he should be back in action within two to four months. Could have been a lot worse.

Random thought re: this week's TV - the ECW title match at Unforgiven has been booked badly. Why is The Miz in there and John Morrison (hilariously nicknamed "Jo-Mo" this week by the awesome Matt Striker) isn't? Morrison is clearly the one who should be put over more, and he has been all through their partnership, given that they walk out to his music and he's the leader etc. They could so easily have booked Hardy vs Miz and Bourne vs Morrison on ECW rather than the other way around. Bourne losing to Miz made him look weak, and Bourne vs Morrison would have been an awesome match. Hardy vs Morrison should be saved for a title feud on PPV somewhere down the road.

Cena and Edge both being off air diminishes the product big time for mine. If they're smart they'll use this to push Punk, Kofi or Priceless and Cryme Time. One positive was the amount of TV time the tag feud got on RAW this week.

Really hope they build this rivalry, good tag matchesfeuds are so awesome and is one thing WWE has lacked for a long long time. Also a great springboard for talent to get over as singles competitors (refer to HBK, Edge, Bret)

Funny you say this actually, I think that once Cryme Tyme have run their course (which hopefully won't be for a while yet, they're great), Shad Gaspard will be in for a strong singles push. Not a huge one, but I've thought for a while that with decent mic skills and an imposing physique, Shad could have a future beyond Cryme Tyme. Be interested to see if that materialises in a few years.

Also, you're right, Cena and Edge have been carrying the product. Between now and Survivor Series is crunch time for WWE, they really need to keep ratings up.

Oh, and Kennedy had surgery today and is out for 4-6 months. I'm officially renouncing him as one of my favourites, guy's made of glass FFS. :@
