Looks liek HBK doesn't need surgery, good news for the E, last thing they need right now is another big name on the shelf. Be intruiging to see how the match goes now mind you, as HBK may still need a little time off for his injury to totally heal up. So hoping that they put Jericho over, his credibility would go off the charts.

Yeah, I hope the injury forces their hand a bit with regards to putting Jericho over. But by the same token I don't expect HBK to job two PPV's in a row so still think he'll get the victory.

What i'm hoping for is for Jericho to go over, HBK go away for a short while, come back in the lead up to WM and have the blow off match at WM25, wouldn't give a crap if HBK won that, as it will have been an amazing feud and probably a great match, be even better if they worked a world title in there as well. As both guys are overdue a run with a decent championship.

But alas...I rather suspect that'll not happen.

Well if it went that way I'd love it too as there's mutual benefit for both guys and you've now got one more bonafide star up to perma over status. Much like you though I suspect it won't turn out like that and no way the writing staff would exhibit that kind of foresight.

Random thought after watching ECW - Evan Bourne (I'm gonna have to get used to not calling him Matt Sydal) does the best Shooting Star Press ever. I'm literally in awe every time I see it. There are Olympic gymnasts who don't move with that much style.

Well, looks like Mick Foley is now part of the TNA roster, statement released by his booking company saying that he has signed a short term deal with TNA...

...and now this appears on the TNA website...

so I would assume that he'll be debuting very soon, will be interested to see how this turns out, could potentially be very good imo.

Raw was solid this week. Randy Orton gave one of the best opening promo's of his entire career there. He was completely switched on and I loved the interaction with Punk. CM Punk vs Randy Orton could be one really entertaining feud.

Jericho is undoubtedly the best promo guy in the business at the moment alongside Edge. Jericho is light years ahead of Triple H on the microphone and definitely deserves a shot at the World Title after his feud with Shawn Michaels is over.

That's fantastic news! I'm a big TNA fan and watch Impact regularly so this is great news for me. I thought a star of Foley's calibre was used poorly in WWE as of late and he can really help TNA in establishing some credbility. Looking forward to his work and potential interactions with the likes of AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Sting, Christian Cage and Abyss. Foley in TNA could make Impact must see television.

Yeah, I haven't watched iMPACT since the Joe vs Angle feud finished but this is gonna get me tuning in over the next few weeks. Excited to see where this goes, very excited.

Hunter is one of the greats as far as some of the stuff he's capable of producing on the stick. Problem is you give him the mic for 20 minutes on RAW every week for the best part of a decade and it diminishes how special the work being produced is. Really is a case of overkill hiding how good he is.

But you're right about Jericho, along with Edge and Cena he's as hot as anyone in the company right now. Deserves the ME feud with Punk untill Orton comes back.

What worries me that Jericho despite being mega over is only going to be used as a ME performer until Orton gets back, and then will be relegated to the mid card once more, would be a real abortion if that happened imo, and going on how the E have handled him in the past...I wouldn't rule it out.

Yeah, has anything actually happened in TNA since Angle/Joe? Last I heard was that the fans threw a stink because the night after they had the mixed martial arts type match (which was meant to be quite good apparently) they had a rematch on the next showing of Impact! and wrecked it's credibility.

MVP upset management following a recent incident in which he made a derogatory comment to one of the drug testing monitors who watches the WWE performers while they submit urine samples.

Following the implementation of the WWE Wellness policy a few years ago, some wrestlers were submitting fake urine samples to beat the drug tests. One wrestler was eventually caught cheating in WWE developmental wrestler Afa Anoa'i, Jr. As a result, Anoa'i was suspended by WWE for 30 days, on March 20, 2008, as cheating is an obvious violation of the WWE's Wellness policy. Following the incident, WWE instituted a new rule in which the performers have to be bare from their chest down to their knees while giving urine in front of a doctor to make sure they're not cheating. A number of the wrestlers are grouchy to the monitors as you would imagine. However, MVP went too far in what he said to one of them.

MVP asked the monitor if he graduated from college. The monitor said yet. MVP then insulted him, saying something along the lines of, "So you went to school for four years to watch people's (expletive)?"

The monitor promptly complained to WWE head of talent relations John Laurinaitis as well as Bruce Prichard. Soon after, Laurinaitis indirectly addressed the matter in locker room meeting, instructing talent to be respectful of the testers and to not harass them. People aware of the MVP incident felt it was obvious that the meeting was held due to it.

Since the incident, MVP has been getting the cold shoulder from a few officials. Suddenly, the word backstage is that he doesn't know how to work as a heel to get heat. At last week's SmackDown/ECW tapings in Pittsburgh, Shelton Benjamin - who's been in-and-out of favor with WWE officials for a number of years - was given high praise in that he knows to work as an effective heel. They liked his smiling facials after he laid out MVP with his "Paydirt" finisher and more so later in the show after clocking Triple H with a belt
.

Pretty dissapointing news tbh, stupid of MVP to draw this kind of situation on himself as he's in quite a decent position. But the comments regarding him not knowing how to get heel heat seem totally unjust to me.

Couldn't agree with this aymore, Jericho for all the time he has been in the WWE has never got his due, he surely has the charisma and the attitude to be right there at the top of the pile, but he has always been kept in the mid-level which isn't fair imo, i have been a jerchiholic since made his first appereance at RAW and i love the ****y attitude that he brings with him, so i hope he gets a title shot, because he surely desrves it.

That's not a nice thing he's done but seriosuly doubt management would get that wound up over a smart arse comment like that when they have far bigger disciplinary problems to deal with.

You never know, the tester could've been a bit of a dick to him and his comment might have been in response to that?

As for the comments about having to draw heat? I wouldn't take much stock in it unless Triple H is feeling threatened by him. Blind Freddie could see how much potential MVP has.

Random Smackdown thoughts:

-Truth is a young Booker T. Everything about him from his look, physique, voice, attitude and in-ring ability smacks of the old school 5-time 5-time Booker. Think he has a bit more athleticism and high flying moves in his arsenal than Booker too. Very exciting talent.
-Kozlov and Show in a program intrigues me.
-Benjamin has really improved on the mic. Thought he was very good and keeping his promos short but sweet really helps him.
-Triple H coming out and saying "I'm going to be champion for a century" was hilarious and ominous at the same time. What happened to him wanting some time off?
-Maryse is actually a good wrestler.
-They are seriously wasting Takers home stretch in the company by putting him a program with Vickie and not trying to put an actual wrestler over.

Agreed, Truth is awesome. I was hugely disappointed with the way TNA used him and was pretty sad when he left TNA. But one organisation's loss is another organisation's gain. What's been most promising is the build up and the back story to R-Truth. They are taking him seriously and marketing him as a role model to the African American community, which is terrific. Plus they are letting him be himself and not some cartoon character.

A Kozlov vs Big Show feud is interesting enough but I doubt it will have much longevity of appeal to the audience. Once the initial match is out the way I could see myself not caring less.

Great to see WWE behind Shelton Benjamin. They've got it right this time with this new 'Gold Standard' gimmick of his. Shelton's a pretty comfortable heel and he's playing his role really well. He still is one of the best young pure wrestlers in the entire company, but it's great to see him step up in terms of his character.

I mentioned that Chris Jericho is light years ahead of Triple H on the mic, and that was coming from a big Triple H fan as I am. But when Triple H abandons his typical boring formula, his promo work is always solid and entertaining. His semi shoot promo today about him and the young guys was entertaining enough. He's also one guy who can somehow wrestle a decent match with Great Khali.

Maryse may have improved in the ring, but she's terrible in those backstage promos. Maria is underrated and has turned into a pretty solid wrestler. They still don't compare to the TNA girls though in terms of wrestling ability.

I have a feeling that the Taker vs Vickie feud will mean that Vickie recruits some big guy to protect her an face off with Taker. Vickie acts as the central point of the feud but the random big guy who's protecting her gets to work with Taker and learn from him. Best person for the role could be Umaga or possibly Kozlov after his one match with Big Show.

All in all was a solid Smackdown and I'm looking forward to Unforgiven. Hope CM Punk retains and we see a new Smackdown Champion.

Probably will turn out that way, but my thinking with this was that Big Show seems happy to be a mid carder these days and is still very over and is charasmatic enough to carry the feud promo wise which is all it needs because I think that two guys of this size with as much skill in the ring will be great to watch.

Yeah absolutely. I was one of the doubters of how he was going to go about showing his charisma but they've booked him very well recently. Hope this isn't another false dawn for Shelton.

Yep, very impressed with how good he made Khali look, but to be fair to the big Punjabi he seems to have done a lot of work in the ring and has expanded his moveset somewhat (still extremely limited mind you but he's not the first nor will he be the last)

Maryse may have improved in the ring, but she's terrible in those backstage promos. Maria is underrated and has turned into a pretty solid wrestler. They still don't compare to the TNA girls though in terms of wrestling ability.
Probably true, but to be fair the only diva I've really rated was Trish Stratus who had absolutely everything. I've just sort of been meh about the womens division since Trish left. Hopefully we can see a resurgence of sorts in it.

Yeah but for that to happen they'll need to stretch out an already stale feud. Without Edge it lacks the "it" factor it had before and to bring in a fresh heel now IMO would be very difficult.

Fingers crossed he does, if he can find a way to go over 4 former champions it gets him to the moon. Also praying for a Jericho win to springboard him into a ME feud with Punk.

Hahahaha, such an unexpected ending to Unforgiven, I love it.

edit: Punk got horribly buried though for reasons I can't understand. I mean I know they were setting up for a feud between Orton and Punk but that would have been money for the World Title, to bury Punk like that just, I dunno, makes his whole title reign seem kinda pointless. Didn't want to see him lose it, and I wasn't much impressed going into the match because I didn't want anyone else in it to pick up the belt either. Also makes no sense having Jericho beaten within an inch of his life to then come out and somehow pick up the World Title but at the end of the day, it means we have Jericho as champion which is just awesome. Looking forward to RAW and the future for Jericho so much..
