Wasn't short of confidence by any means. Reckon he's a good prospect but I don't see him being too successful at the Gold Coast. Will need to make a move like Sandow did.

Watched it from the pub and had to refrain from bursting into laughter when he dropped the ball with no-one between himself and the try-line. Had $10 on Newcastle -6.5 you see.

How did the young fella go? TV3 News made no mention of how he actually performed.

Was only on the field for all of 20 minutes, so it's hard to make a judgement.

Mark McLinden Returning to Australia

Interesting news, I know he's a fullback now, but in all likelyhood the Raiders have close to $700,000 under the cap for next season they should have no trouble signing him if they are interested. I think he'd be an excellent fullback in the NRL now, much like Kurt Gidley. The game has changed since he was last here and he'd be a great pickup for NRL club. I'd even be tempted for Brisbane to have a play at him if it works out we re-sign Lockyer and lose Hunt.

But how soft was the Raiders last try? I know the two Newcastle players were called for offside, but I would rather tackle him and take the penalty then give up a try.
