cover drive man
International Captain
Very poor England, well done South Africa Once again we get outclassed by a much better side.
Jones has been belted in his last couple of trips to the bowling crease. Could just be flat pitches though. And Key hasn't had a great season either.Jones (S) for Sid, Foster for Ambrose & Key for Vaughan; Strauss to captain.
Imagine Key and Cook running together.Key for Vaughan
I would agree with that for the most part, with the exception of Key/Vaughan. Not sure about Key tbh.Has to the former. Sid seems to be feeling his back, Ambrose looks short of the requisite quality in both disciplines and captaincy is the only thing keeping MPV in the team.

He started the season strongly, but he's been very average of late. Much like Ramprakash.Imagine Key and Cook running together.
That, and he's a proven failure. Just say no.
Hadn't noticed that in all honesty, but he's still our best bet (IMHO) outside the current team, with apologies to Hoggy, obv.Jones has been belted in his last couple of trips to the bowling crease. Could just be flat pitches though.
Denly can't buy a run (last innings excepted), Horton is an opener & don't see Shah as a test 3 (nor Bell if Owais moves into 5 or 6). Hobson's choice.Imagine Key and Cook running together.

Yea, lets keep the guy who went a long way to costing England this series - Monty Panesar. His ineptitude in the field costs more runs than he scores.Has to the former. Having nightmares alredayImagine Key and Cook running together.

Stick with Vaughan then. He'll average more than twenty.Denly can't buy a run (last innings excepted), Horton is an opener & don't see Shah as a test 3 (nor Bell if Owais moves into 5 or 6). Hobson's choice.
I was disappointed with Panesar today, but he's not the only one. The whole team looks flat and out of form. Can we send them all back to county cricketYea, lets keep the guy who went a long way to costing England this series - Monty Panesar. His ineptitude in the field costs more runs than he scores.
I mean he can't be trusted to bowl more than the odd over in the first innings, meanwhile our seamers get driven into the ground and can't perform properly later in the match. If any seam bowler was a bit part bowler like that they'd be out of the team like a shot.
Just what the hell does he have to do to get dropped?
Yea, that's about the best defense the Panesar lovers can come up with.
Murray Goodwin is England-qualified, right?Denly can't buy a run (last innings excepted), Horton is an opener & don't see Shah as a test 3 (nor Bell if Owais moves into 5 or 6). Hobson's choice.
If the next test wasn't at The Oval I might think you have a point, but I wouldn't seriously consider going into a test there without a specialist spinner & don't see the other options banging the door down.Yea, lets keep the guy who went a long way to costing England this series - Monty Panesar.
