Seriously though, both catches were clearly out, this one more so than the Strauss one but as long as they are referred to the third umpire they will keep being given not out. personally, i think the fielders word needs to be taken.

I agree take the fielders word if it is proven that he has claimed a 'dropped' catch then a 5 test ban & the stigma of being cheat to follow the player around.

I don't think they should be going on word exactly, but they've got to more 'clever' when they look at these replays as surely everyone knows about fore-shortening and all of this.

he'd only abuse it once before he got banned for a good few games that would sort out those who wish to decieve. similar to the situation of player ssurrounding the ref in football if the ref gave a red to anyone who is not the captain then it would also soon stop.

incidents like that can just be dealt with by handing out suspensions.
