No I didn't.No-one needs to be confused by attempts to bluff, because such things don't exist here. You did misinterpret what I said though - probably deliberately.
Go and buy a book on the subject (of wicket keeping that is, you've already perfected the looking foolish part.)Proved to you maybe - which really doesn't matter. There is nothing important to a wicketkeeper other than ability to ensure the ball goes cleanly into your gloves. There are a great many skills which help a good wicketkeeper do this, but at the end of the day this is the aim.
And really, someone saying "it's not" won't change that. If they explained what else there was to it, maybe it might. But some people are more interested in trying - and usually failing - to make others look foolish than actually offering insight.
Largely because he's forgotten how to bat.Bringing GoJo back would be awesome, but is unfortunately more or less impossible atm.
Not to mention that almost every significant test match inning that Geraint played (and there werent many) were all played alongside Flintoff.Aye if there was ever a time you wouldn't have wanted Geraint coming to the crease, it's after Flintoff today.
Different situation, but see also, Trent Bridge, 2005
some would claim that he never knew how to do so ITFP.Largely because he's forgotten how to bat.
Yeah, they batted well together a few times. Think Fred liked Geraint, remember his "there weren't any criticisms of him in our dressing room"Not to mention that almost every significant test match inning that Geraint played (and there werent many) were all played alongside Flintoff.

Yeah, but the way the question was asked he could have just said, "yeah he did well" or whatever but he felt the need to make everybody aware that the dressing room was behind him.To be fair he's hardly going to say they were all walking around the dressing room calling him a nob.
If Flintoff rediscovers his batting form, and Broad continues his and develops his bowling to be Test Class, England won't need their keeper to be capable of batting higher than 9.No. You can't ignore batting (in)ability. A keeper needs to score some runs to be worthy of his place. That's why Alan Knott > Bob Taylor. Taylor was the better keeper, but Knott the more valuable player overall.
I'd like to report Neil Pickup for duplicate accounts. If Flintoff rediscovers his batting form, and Broad continues his and develops his bowling to be Test Class, England won't need their keeper to be capable of batting higher than 9.
Because its about time we persisted with someone. Its ridiculous that we drop keepers left and right. Ambrose hasnt done poorly enough to be dropped. The problem with England is that they spend soo much time looking for the next Alec Stewart that they simply ignore the possibility of a Mark Boucher. The point is its clear that Ambrose doesnt have the technique. Even if he got a lucky score here and there it wouldnt be something thats going to happen regularly vs good bowling. So why are we perserving with him?
This is very trueGeraint Jones will probably always have a soft spor in the heart of ENG supporters given his role in the 05 Ashes. But fact is the man wasn't good enough consistently in any facet in the game.
Yes, you did.No I didn't.
I've already got several.Go and buy a book on the subject (of wicket keeping that is)
