Yeah I remember him being slow from his days at Fulham?(maybe Bolton, not absolutely sure).
Notlob. The kind of player Fat Sam has wet dreams over: big, slow, uncomplicated, largely devoid of guile. It says something of the man's ego that he likes his players so very much in his own image, actually.

Looking at Keane as an individual, £20m is way, way too much. Maybe he will click with Torres, you can never quite tell, but I doubt it personally.

Additionally, if both Keane and Torres are to play together, that means stopping the usage of the 4-2-3-1, which was the only time Liverpool looked halfway effective last season.

As for Saha, good player when not injured, in fact very good, but given he always is injured, he is rather useless.
As has been said I think Benitez will keep the 4-2-3-1 formation & play Keane behind Torres with Gerard on the right & Babbel on the left.

The signing doesn't address the problem that Liverpool have if Torres gets injured, needs resting or suffers a loss of form they have no one to lead the line unless you (god forbid) count Kuyt or Voronin.

I think 20 million is far too much for Keane but I also think 32 million is too much for Tevez & 12 million is too much for Crouch so what do I know?

Imo £17m is a lot for Bentley as well, I'd have valued him around the £12m mark myself. Ah well, ex gooner player now at Spurs, lets hope he flops.

I'd be tipping Keane to slot home more goals than any of Kuyt or Voronin (or Crouch before him) should he for any reason be required to become Liverpools main focus in attack. He's been able to do it well enough (obviously not Torres standard, but very few are) with an inferior team in Tottenham, so I see no reason why he couldn't keep up the same level of output with Liverpool.

Rumour has been on goal.com that Manchester United will sign Thierry Henry. Hmmmm I will say no chance.

I have no doubt Keane will get more goals than Voronin or Kuyt - It will be intereting to see how Crouch does for Portsmouth as I thiught he was under used by Liverpool.

But you are not going to get the best out of Keane by having him lead the line Keane has been most successful playing just behind a 'big man' Viduka, Quinn, Berbatov etc. Therefore if Torres doesn't play I would suggest that Kuyt or Voronin will have to play as the lead striker.

Which would be an even worse move IMO, Gerrard IMO is far more effective in the centre, be that in a more advanced position or a more defensive midfield one.

For all Keane being a good player and all, I generally get the feeling that he could go the same way as Craig Bellamy, though without the training ground spats etc...
