Only Kallis was ever going to get the ball to do much in this attack. Will be interesting to see if he can keep it up for a while. The first hint of swing we've seen all morning and its dismissed for 4.
Until recently that would indeed be the case.Cook seems to regularly outscore Strauss in the morning session even though I always think of Strauss as the faster scorer
In all fairness Cook has received the majority of the long-hops this morningCook seems to regularly outscore Strauss in the morning session even though I always think of Strauss as the faster scorer
I lack TV here...... But this sounds quite impossible to mecricinfo said:Nel to Cook, no run, what in the name of WG Grace was that? Cook went for a pull but bottom-edged it to point, of all places
Not sure how on earth Cook managed to do that.
QED.Can't remember the last time I saw anyone do such a thing indeed.
He often does, though - or at least has in recent times. What's a Long-Hop to Cook isn't neccessarily to Strauss. And that suits Strauss' game.In all fairness Cook has received the majority of the long-hops this morning

What was that?

I always get the idea Kallis has been underused as a bowler. I'm not sure about this: How often did he bowl in the beginning of his test career? Why is it that Kallis gets to be classed as a true all-rounder despite averaging under 2 wickets per Test, whereas Flintoff averages is not even thought of as a bowling all-rounder despite 5 tons and 24 50s?
