BARNES OUT
End of Over 49: 200-10, runrate=4.08
Conn 9-0-38-6
Alnwick* 29 (47 balls)

Should be a good chase, he's got a few good players so I'm a touch worried but I should chase it. Batting Conn at 3 today because he's been barely able to get a bat and I feel like he should be. He's been crap at 5 anyway.

BARNES OUT
And that's the end of the match. Central Districts won by 8 wickets.
One Day Wonders 200-10
Central Districts 201-2

Conn and Coburn saw me home with 80-odd not out and 60-odd not out respectively. Through to round 10 of the cup.

PY and Adam only have one week left, regardless of results. Nibbs might have a max of three weeks left he makes it past this round though.

PY

International Coach
Eh? If I win today, I'll be through to the quarters. Still a possibility of 3 more weeks! Not likely but there is a chance.

Scored 291/3 first up, now have them 45/1 after 9. Should be a close run game I reckon.

Hm. If either of PY or Nibbs goes through to the final, that means there's 6 weeks left for the CW Cup. Could do, but then only the winner of each group qualifies for the next round.

hmm, will be touch and go tomorrow one feels. need duggan and clegg to colaborate on something special. well, my opponent has an international bowler and i've always found these to be rather intimidating. other than him we're pretty even really.

hak, i think my side could stretch it out as far as the semi. but the final will surely be a step too far. PFL issues with Winters and Allison could derail things I suspect.

hmm, cup game hangs in the balance. korn fed with the upperhand at this stage. earlier, i recovered from 88/5 to reach 230.

End of Over 10: 50-1, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=4.53 (230-10)
Khulekani 5-0-26-1
Tarr* 21 (25 balls)
Mcconnell 24 (27 balls)

Last Wicket: Mulhern b. Khulekani 5 (FOW: 7/1)

Made it through to the cup final, pretty dodgy batting effort but an easy win eventually:

Asterix XI 209 (47.3)
Watkins 71* (102), Lancaster 56 (71), Ashton 39 (40)

NorCricket United 84 (26)
Barton 4-12 (6), Lancaster 2-19 (7)

Ratings the same as Friday except fielding dropped back to competent.

Got Mud Poodles in the final, one of the few teams I have a slightly dubious record against, should win though as long as my PFLs get back to decent levels after two successive GFIs.

Contemplating getting rid of Cuss after the cup final, he's been punching well above his weight this season but realistically he isn't worthy of a top order spot anymore, and I don't want to have to put one of the allrounders (Watkins or Lancaster) in the top order. His value will start to drop pretty rapidly over the next couple of seasons too, so I think the best thing to do is to replace him with a better specialist bat or someone I can train.

Through to the cup semis after a bit of a scare. Duggan and Khulekani setting a 6th wicket record stand for Whenuapai of 133.

Whenuapai CC 230 (44.5)
Duggan 105 (111)l, Khulekani 71 (86), Janes 40 (53)

Korn Fed 144 (36.3)

Denvers 4/16, Allison 3/48, Towse 2/18

Allison and Winters both struggling with their PFLs. Will rest them over the next week. The quarter final is a match that I suspect is beyond us. Will need good knocks from Duggan and Clegg, whilst Towse and Denvers must take wickets if I'm to have a chance.

Forgot to set BT20 orders before buggering off for the weekend, with the result that my first XI played on a GFI against completely hopeless opposition. Bah.

On the bright side, I've reached the half-way stage undefeated at the top of both my leagues, which is nice. An 8-point cushion in OD as well, which is the only one I care about.
