Well, it's good for any cricket fan to see Flintoff performing with both bat and ball. Will be disappointed with his dismissal though, he really could've took them home.

Where did Malan come from? :O

He'd been relatively tidy til then tho in all honesty. You'd have got long odds on him going for 28. But agree with your point re Cork & Chapple. Malan was fairly harsh on Dom's last over too tho, went for 16 I think, so there's no guarantees.
Yeh that's true, it's more a thing I disagree with in general that I think captains do a lot in limited overs cricket. In the longer form of the game it's understanable to have the part timer come on for a bit of a punt to give the quickies a rest, but in limited overs cricket I just don't think there's any value in bowling 2 part-time bowlers when you have 5 front liners in your side.

All too familiar end for Lancashire, it might just be me but every other time I see Lancs on TV it's always Kyle Hogg trying to score 15 of the last over, and failing.

Maybe next year :(

The 6 over midwicket off Finn's bowling?
If so, you posted that a couple of minutes before it was broadcast on the BBC
Yeah, that's the one

Nearly choked on my tea when Cork got out, was convinced he was gonna hit 3 X 6 tbh

His dad's South African and he went to school there I think, born in England though, He's English surely

I always thought being born in England would be enough but Richard said something the other day that he thought residency was required if they were born here but then lived overseas most of their life.

By that logic Terry Butcher is Singaporean. Malan’s surname is a dead giveaway if anyone doubted his ‘Seth Africaness’

If that were true we wouldn't have just called up Darren Pattinson who'd been absent from blighty for the better part of 25 years.

Post was probably in jest, tbh.

I assumed 'Malan' was either Irish or Welsh, then decided Welsh when I saw how his first name was spelt.

Why wouldnt you be able to play for the country you were born in? Why would qualification be needed?

Malan is English qualified, just as Symonds was.

Look, I am only quoting what I said, I thought it strange too.

Must say that I find it odd that you can't qualify through your folks. In football, KP would have been eligible for England right from birth.

Actually, he may have needed a passport or citizenship, could be completely wrong here.

I know Aldo qualified for Ireland through his grandmother despite being a British passport holder only, but during his international career had to become an Irish citizen due to rules being changed.

The reason I wondered was because David Hemp was born in Bermuda but had to do some sort of qualification to play for them.

I'd thought that if you were obviously only born somewhere because your parents happened to be on a short-term overseas visit and had lived your entire life elsewhere that you needed some form of residence qualification.

Hence I was surprised Pattinson was instantly England-qualified, as Hemp seemed not to be with Bermuda.
