Shouldn't be classed as "foreign" in any way IMO. Not like imported South Africans who could be playing in their own domestic cricket exclusively.
Goughy said English-born. You implied that, for all intents and purposes Irish = English, which is just wrong. They are foreign, mainly because they are foreign.

Ward's said he has a residence permit so doubt it'll come to that.
Indeed. I'd be extremely surprised if he'd lived here for 7 years without permament residency, atleast. Interestingly enough, he could have became a British citizen atleast a year ago, thus sparing this whole ****ing mess, should he have wanted.

I don't see any significant difference between English-born and Irish-born, no more than Yorkshire-born and Surrey-born. Anything from these isles around here (including even the Isle Of Man) is not something I regard as foreign, and I never will. A Dutchman or a South African (both of those if your name is Ryan ten Doeschate) is.

Anyway, I'm sure everyone knows this.

What a balls up at Yorks. Now I can just about understand a piece of paper getting missed and the guy doesnt sign all the right bits and bobs. I can just about forgive that (though its still stupid), but to have that as well as not knowing what passport he has and therefore play an additional unregistered foreign player and break the rules twice in one go is unforgiveable.

They deserve whatever they get. Stupidity like that shouldnt go unpunished.

As for the England U15s. Im assuming that has no relevance as that may well be the England Schools and doesnt mean nationality.

I rate Masters, he looks like something pretty special, in the limited time I have seen him.

I'm loving this pitch already, they need to drench more dryish pitches in water.

David Masters?

Always thought him a potentially excellent one-day bowler and he's lived-up to that in some recent years. Not sure about his Twenty20 prowess, obviously, and don't particularly care, but he's really capable of hitting (conventional) good areas more than most in recent times.

Just a shame the Saggers-Masters partnership was terminated so early.

Indeed David Masters - so much wasted motion in his action, but I think he looks like someone who can really hit the seam and get some zip off an averagerelease speed. This is off watching him bowl about 8 overs over the course of the T20 though.

Jesus. Napier on fire. Double wicket maiden first up. Hall & Sales no mugs either.

Sky libelling him as "right arm medium", his last two deliveries up near 88mph.

Was bowling it up in the 90s last year and he gets decent reverse as well.

 at Northants 4-3. Target of 175 off 18 (D/L)

Is Riki Wessels still only 22? Seems to have been around quite a while now.

Not sure, just remember a Sky game from last year (or possibly the year before) when he came back and started bowling 90mph + reversing swinging yorkers.
If he were just a bit quicker on a regular basis, just 2-3mph, I could see him having got rushed into the Fletcher ODI team.
