I know you're a huge Hewitt fan, and fair enough, but why do you only like watching Hewitt matches?
Lot of time to expend watching a match - a couple of hours. Since my uni days/Rafter days I have less time to stay up and watch as many games as I would like, so I have to pick and chose the games I want to watch. Am a massive Safin fan from way back, so am looking forward to this game. Also, don't have Foxtel any more so don't have the access that I used to, to watch tennis matches.

If I get permanency this year it will mean I don't have to work on the holidays, so should watch a fair bit of the Oz open.

It is just so annoying to see people talk crap about all Williams Final. I am looking forward to it.

Dementieva - is such a classless *****.

Why?
It's not hard to remember four or five years ago when every womens tournament they were in would end up them playing each other in the final. They were too dominant that it made every match before that one in the tournament pointless and even when they got to the final most of the matches were disapointing.

do you really have good memories of a scintillating match between those two? i really don't...i am not trashing their individual abilities which is obviously exceptional...but when they play each other, probably because they are so close, neither plays at or near her best and it is usually awkward and uncomfortable and consequently error-filled and the one who is less uncomfortable on the day wins...not something i look forward to....:)

you can say more or less the same about feds and nadal...does that in itself make every tournament and each men's title match between these two boring and predictable...of course not...

Is it their fault that they are put in the opposite draws or that Sharapova and others are out ? Besides why pick on them ? For years Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova were the only ones winning grand Slams almost always facing each other in finals, then came the Steffi Graff/Monica Seles era. Woment tennis has always(at least in last 30 years or so) been like that - Top 2-3 players are great and then there are the rest.

Even in Men's Tennis Roger and Rafa have been winning pretty much everything - Does it make the tournaments any less interesting.

Besides making suggestions like 'Richards is going to decide the winner' is really cheap.

Besides when was the last time Women's Tennis had a scintillating final ? I would rather wach All Williams final than Serena and Sania mirza.

Can't stand the Williams sisters, really don't like watching them play tennis. Not sure what it is either, which annoys me.

Hear hear.

People talk about how how its not entertaining tennis. Yeah because Dementieva, Zheng, Vaidisova (a wannabe Williams power player) play tennis with grace 8-)

****in love that the Williams are shoving it everyone's face again. As seen in this thread many times, I've been a long time supporter, and long they continue to dominate. The best bit? They don't even try for most of the year, whereas players like Henin and Clijsters play every tournament, yet never won Wimbledon.

After this, both of them will go on doing some publicity or marketing campaign, earning millions, then rock up to the US Open an win.

I reckon Henin is regretting her decision to retire, pretty sure she would have made the semi and even had a chance to win the thing if she was on her game.

She never won Wimbledon btw.

She lost to Bartoli last year in the semi when she was playing 'well' and on her game.

She would have had a chance, and would have made Wimbledon ladies' more interesting, but she has no one else to blame but herself for her lack of Wimbledon success.

Btw I don't think she's regretting it at all. She's had a terrific tennis career, and is obviously sick of the sport. Not like she would have had any better chance to win Wimbledon this year than any other year considering her record vs. both the Williams (though she beat Serena last year). She'd have just as much a chance as any other time in her career as #1 in the world.

I don't see Federer losing from here if his serve holds up.

Venus Williams has been just as dominant at Wimbledon as Federer, but nobody cares. It's not her fault. Nobody cares, that's all.
