The problem is- Sehwag bowls barely three a match, and averages over 40, and has never taken five wickets in an innings. No bowler with such figures would ever make a starting XI, let alone get even those three overs. Less so on a flat pitch, against set batsmen.Sehwag is a solid bowler. He has good control of flight and turns the ball - he is a highly underrated spinner and his poor statistics come from the fact that, before this Asia Cup, he was bowled when all others have been hit for runs - which points to a flat track or a well performing battling line up. Irfan does not need wickets, he needs to work on his bowling technique and core strength more - unfortunately, it is much more the confidence that Pathan is lacking.
Irfan and Praveen have problems, but these are not solutions, but only more problems at hand- they have out-of-form frontline bowlers and totally unusable part-timers. The way these bowlers are managed is absolutely dreadful, no two ways about it.
