What is the reasonning behind his thinking?
He's looked a little stodgy out there- not moving too well and struggling with his action.

Besides, those who've been reading or hearing about Irfan's career from the start would know that he's often approached Wasim Akram for advice, so Wasim understands him a lot better.

RP Singh pulls off a masterstroke from the outfield yet again. He throws flat and hard, and Dhoni wipes off the bails in time to run out Silva. Now the Indians are in a strong position. Time to attack.

Rohit Sharma has an open view of the bowlers' end stumps and hits directly, but he took too much time, allowing the runner to reach safely.

I certainly wasn't questioning Wasim, just wondering what the signs were. Wasim has been working on Irfan throughout his career sporadically, but I think the BCCI should try to get Wasim in an official role to work with Irfan.

RP Singh, criticised much recently, has put together nine good overs with not too many given away. Great for a fill-in bowler. If the Indians make the finals, he should make the starting lineup.

Now Pathan possibly costs India the match with a joke of a last over - get him out of the team to sort out his bowling - he has been pathetic since his comeback in 50 over cricket.

There's no point blaming Irfan when he was rushed in when less than match fit, on a flat pitch, with sub-standard fielding support. That fielding can't win matches. Seriously.

And whom would you have replacing Irfan? Then they may slip back in the dark ages with only four bowlers on a flat pitch.

He hasn't bowled well since his comeback to ODI cricket.

Yusuf Pathan is the obvious option.

Yusuf Pathan is the obvious option.
Irfan Pathan- This mini-comeback was rushed, and he was struggling with fitness.

Yusuf- Good option, but when he bats at seven with the compulsion of hitting sixes, and only gets four overs when the batting is quiet, you wonder.

Bad fielding, and obviously fielding 100 overs in a row hasn't helped, but they've realy got to do better than that.

Dhoni has all the right in the world to get pissed at the schedule, sheerly because they've had to play Pak and SL back to back, and hence been disadvantaged compared to the other teams. HOWEVER he, as leader, has(d) to get them up for this game.

They must chase this down.

Migara

International Coach
It's a master stroke of not playing Vaas and Mendis against India. Possibly Sanga should have not played as well. He should have been replaced with Udawatta and keeping duties should have been handed over to Dilshan. It can be even done in the second innings.

If Dilshan can become SL's ODI keeper, we'll be seeing Sanga climbing to the top to get among best 5 ODI batsmen.

How is it a master stroke? SL should want to ensure India are out of the finals (that happens if SL win right)?

Perhaps India are looking tired and disinterested, whereas Pakistan have a bit more fight about them now?

Still doubt SL would rather play India in the final, even taking into account choking ability and tiredness.

if Viv Richards were playing against such bowlers and on such tracks, he would be hitting 200 once in a while :p

Yeah its a disgrace, the wickets have been ridiculous.

You can chase 300 down in 40 over

Raina is taking too many chances .... he should be playing himself in and giving more strike to Gambhir

btw, Richards against these attacks and in this condition

vs Pak - 284 not out
vs SL - 267
vs Ind - 60 of 18 balls run out :p
