Went to the Parra-Drizzle game yesterday at the home of Rugby League.
God, Parra were just awful. Melbourne were as good as they could be, but jeez, Parra just hopeless. No intensity at all. Got to the poiunt where, in the second half I was yelling at them to actually have a go. We were sitting at the southern end in the kid-friendly area. Bit dirty on Hindy too - my 6 year old was down the front and, with Parra defending on their line, was yelling out "Hi Nathan, Hi Nathan". He didn't turn around and wave FFS. What about the kids, I say?

One funny moment though - when Melbourne kicked the last ball out and raced to form the scrum, HIndmarsh was running back on side. He stopped next to the Melbourne front rower and began packing in with the Storm as a giggle. Who said spontaneity is dead?

How is this any different to score updates throughout the day when the cricket's on in any given thread? It is possible to watch the game and have your computer turned off, unless you're actually connected up to the power supply yourself.
Bingo. Couldn't agree more. There was a similar argument on another forum about live updates - here's a thought, if you're purposely trying to avoid the score, stay away from anything that might provide you with aforementioned score - be that TV, radio, internet (including forums which might have discussion on said sport - such as, oohhh I dunno, a "NRL thread" in a sports sub-forum.

Just another big post-count **** throwing his weight around and chucking a paddy at a new, enthusiastic member. Will still get my vote in the BOTM though...

Watching the State of Origin at a cinema due to a mate winning some tickets. Unfortunately it's in QLD. I only have 2 days to learn the language so I can mix with the locals.

STGI Dragons 26 - GC Titans 22.

Geez how bad was Jeffery under the high ball? That is one of the worst efforts I have seen in first grade in all my years of watching ARL/Super League/NRL. Dire. And Jordan Atkins wasn't much chop either, showing that perhaps scoring 4 tries on debut will be as good as it gets for him.
You haven't seen much of Eric Grothe this year then.

And hopefully you won't see any more of him either.

Feel sorry for the Tigers fans. They have such a talented "Big 4" in Farah, Benji, Hodgson and Head but their pack sucks so much.

In other news, didn't Cooper Cronk give it bloody everything today. Left it all on the park.
They have the softest pack in the history of rugby league. And somehow with their crap roster, they're the team struggling most with the cap. Who are the idiots running that club?

What a win by the Newtown Jets on the weekend. Shows how deep the Doggies have sunk...no FG team should lose against a side missing 8 rep players in the day and age of salary caps making squad depth a near impossibility.

BARNES OUT
Minichello hasn't been a rep player for nigh on 3 seasons. Injury an excuse, but he wouldn't have been picked for Origin even if he was "fit" for mine. Down on form.

To be fair, our best two props (Payten and Galloway) are out injured and our third best prop (Gibbs) is only playing because we're desperate - he's not really ready for a return either. Ryan O'Hara, as dire as he is these days, would certainly have been useful now and he's injured too.

The Tigers pack was never going to be great this season but it has been made look a lot worse than it actually is in recent times by injury. Take the starting props and two backups out of most middling teams and they'll really struggle as well.
