WC 83 Final highlights being showed on Star Cricket atm.

So awesome! Creaming my pants as we speak.

Balwinder Sandhu opening the bowling... nothing better in cricket than a turban wearing fast bowler IMO.

Tendulkar at four, in place of Rohit Sharma, would make a very powerful top six, with Raina in good form. Of course, this would change if they give Sharma a long run in SL up front and he has a fantastic tournament.
I don't see any point in playing Tendulkar if he isn't opening, as he is by far and away the best ODI opener the game has ever seen. Sure he's excellent at #4 too, but Sharma and Raina both have big futures for India and should both get as much exposure in limited overs cricket as possible I feel. I agree with Jono's assessment of needing to keep consistency with the selection, give some of the younger guys a decent crack to prove themselves and gain confidence.

The top six is fine, but the bowling is a concern, especially if they play a bowler less. Yusuf Pathan looks good enough to bowl ten overs regularly, but while economy is down, wickets are few and far between. RP Singh is inconsistent, Ishant doesn't strike much, Chawla gets hit for lots, Ojha and Gony are raw, and a lot will depend on Kumar and Irfan.
I know he's only played 10 matches, two of which were against Bangladesh and Hong Kong, but I beleive Praveen Kumar will be the lynch-pin of the Indian ODI bowling attack for the next few years. I know he hasn't been that good in this tournament, but some of the spells he's bowled in his international career have been very good and he has a superb domestic record to back him up. Alongside him I would select Ishant Sharma, who has had a respectable start to his ODI career. Although his strike rate is still a little high, he would be the main wicket-taker in the Indian side with the potential to rip through a batting order like he did in Hobart and Melbourne during the CB series.

Irfan Pathan would be the other seam-bowler, as he adds balance to the team with his lower-order batting ability. When Sreesanth, Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel return from their respective injuries we may see him out of the side, replaced as the all-rounder by his brother Yusuf. I still maintain Yusuf Pathan isn't as good in limited overs cricket as he is in FC games, but at the moment there isn't a place for him in the Test side so India may have to continue his development and harness his Twenty20 skills. Piyush Chawla picks himself IMO, very big things are expected of him and he has shown glimpses of that potential.

He always is, but he was fully fit during the IPL and did not get injured there. He is currently training at the NCA with the other Test match specialists.

Who is going to win tonight guys? I need to know. Lost some money on the AFL today, and need to win it back.

Probably for the best, his services are better used in Test cricket than in ODIs.

Haha, seriously love Geoff Lawson. Top bloke. Great interview just then, straight shooting telling everyone to go get stuffed.

Indeed. Always thought he was unlucky during Pakistan series and that he could have had two or three more wickets if chances had gone his way. Its is good to see him in Test cricket just after he has taken a wicket too, because the pace suddenly jumps to over 140kph and surprises the incoming batsman.

Tanvir strikes, removing Jayasuriya. Then proceeds to bowl a couple of wides.

Tanvir gets Jayawardene, Sri Lanka 62/2 at the moment. Looking good for Pakistan.

So gutted, another innings by Kapu that could have been anything, but just another start. Watch us limp to a mid 200s score from here, unless Sangakkara produces a true masterclass.

Get Sanga out Pakistan you gimps

Nah I don't really mean that, love watching Sanga bat too much. But still, need Pakistan to do well and get some wickets here.
