**Official** Australia in West Indies

Probably talking ODI cricket, hence why he stated his ODI average and games played.
Said 'worst international cricketer' but fair enough. Still hardly fair to judge the youngster only two ODIs into his comeback, especially including statistics from his first stint almost three years ago as a teenager.

TBH reckon Marshall on a hiding to nothing, plays all his International cricket against Australia. Atleast let him play a minnow like Sri Lanka first.

It's safe to say that Xavier Marshall is immeasurably better than he was when he first played for West Indies. He was so dire back then, but the selectors kept tossing him out there against quality opposition. It was almost like they were hell bent on ruining him. Fortunately for West Indies, he's gone back and improved his game and looked like a seasoned international in the Tests.

In the T20 he showed the same swagger, but as I said, he's had some rough luck in the ODIs so far. He'd be well served not having to face Lee first up.

Well TBH, i don't read his selection along the lines as Ponting "rates his bowling". More so as i mentioned before that given that no spinner in AUS jumps out and says pick me for any form of the game currently, Ponting & the selectors have given White the challenge to step up his bowling given with his proven batting ability gives the line-up even more all-round depth.

So its basically to White improve your bowling you have a permanent spot, if not remain a fringe player.
Than they are incorrect..as i cant ever see White being in the team for his bowling at all

I just find there's no point really, might as well label him a fringe player then if hes not good enough with the bat

however i think he is, esp. after Symo retires ..he's still quite youngish

Massive respect for the umpire, whose name I've forgotten. He was on debut and under immense pressure with an appeal/celebration like that, but made an awesome decision with a smile on his face.

There's really not much point in the wounded soldiering on in this series for West Indies. They should just be rested and a second string team picked to battle the Aussies. It's for the best, long-term. That means Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Ramdin, Benn, Taylor and Edwards out.

Devon Smith - make him vice-captain and ask him to bat like one.
Dale Richards - deserved a chance a while ago.
Dwayne Bravo (c) - has his only ODI hundred up there anyway.
Daren Ganga - could do much worse, contrary to popular belief.
Tamar Lambert - gutsy batsman.
Kieron Pollard - see Fletcher.
Omari Banks - I like his spirit and he's done pretty decently lately in OD.
Andre Fletcher - might as well stick with him now, injuries cosidered. But let him keep wicket.
Dave Mohammed - has been superb in OD cricket for a while now.
Kenroy Peters - poorly treated for a while. Good control and takes useful wickets. Rated him since U-19 days.
Jason Bennett - good bowler who has struggled to play because of Barbados' pace riches. Not a great OD record, but he had a couple of decent performances this season

It's not like Australia needs the batting depth. Trying out a specialist spinner should be the way to go. I still don't rate Hopes that much - prefer Watson as a batsman and a bowler over him.

Think Xavier Doherty is worth a shot IMO. Had a good FRC season in 07/08, and if you're so inclined, isn't a total mug with the bat.

I'd pick once Hayden retires:
1. S Marsh
2. S Watson
3. R Ponting*
4. M Clarke
5. A Symonds
6. M Hussey
7. B Haddin+
8. B Lee
9. X Doherty
10. M Johnson
11. N Bracken

Plenty of batting and bowling options.
Hauritz and Cullen > Doherty as a one day bowler. Doherty isn't much better than Clrke.

Sweet, didn't even realise there was a game on today. Gives me something to keep me company while I study (/save notes onto my friend's electronic dictionary) for my writing and reading exams tomorrow.
