A wicketkeeper having a shocker in the field - Fletcher - and a wicketkeeper having a shocker behind the stumps - Patrick Browne. I think it's obvious why Ramdin has been favoured to Browne for so long despite his poor batting form.

Agreed, don't think you'd find anyone doubting Ramdin's form behind the sticks lately.

Wondering if this deck will encourage Bracken to bring out his shorter ball. Reckon we might see Lee's. :D

from 3/60 25 overs to 5/213....i'll take that

last 2 overs were bitterly dissappointing though - just couldn't get the sixes.... and Ronchi wasn't used which feels like a waste

well im still confused on the pitch - is it really that tricky ? or has it evened out?

Just looks like the kind of pitch that you have to get set on. The kind of pitch that should suit Chanderpaul nicely. Unfortunately I've proceeded to jinx him and he will now get out for a duck. That said, hopefully that second comment will jinx my jinx and Chanders will score a hundred. That said...

Gross, frustrating work by White and Hopes at the death. Ugly as allgetout and not effective either. Adding to that, both should've been out two or three times each. Well bowled by Bravo and Taylor though.

Not Whites fault Ponting rates his bowling...
Well TBH, i don't read his selection along the lines as Ponting "rates his bowling". More so as i mentioned before that given that no spinner in AUS jumps out and says pick me for any form of the game currently, Ponting & the selectors have given White the challenge to step up his bowling given with his proven batting ability gives the line-up even more all-round depth.

So its basically to White improve your bowling you have a permanent spot, if not remain a fringe player.

The impression I get from Ponting's comments is that White is the spinner that the selectors have given him, so he's going to see how he goes. I don't think he rates his bowling, but rather he's not prepared to write him off as yet.

Bracken 0/3 off 3 and then taken off btw. Deadset the worst treated bowler in the world and still has an awesome record.

Watson on instead, conceeds 2/3 in his first ball of what Bracken did in three overs. I don't know. :(

And now a four. 0/6 off 0.3.

I feel so sorry for Chanderpaul. I think if I was of a cricket watching age during Hadlee's time, it would be a similar thing.

There's not being good enough, and there's being really stupid.

I can't speak for Hadlee's teammates (whether they were just not good enough, or stupid), but Chanderpaul is surrounded by idiots, well that's how they're batting atm anyway.

Matches like this >>> The usual ODI run fest, IMO. But I may be in a minority.
I hate matches like this simply because not particularly good bowlers become nigh on unplayable and sides such as the West Indies (who don’t have a chance at the best of times) have precisely no chance of winning. If the Australian batsman struggle than how can a bunch of kids and technically inept batsman such as Gayle expect to haul down 200 +? It’s impossible and at least on a road the weaknesses that Marshall, Gayle, Bravo et cetera have are nullified and the contest becomes far more even because any batsman worth their salt stands a chance of making hay.

Also, I emailed the West Indian cricket board (wicb@windiescricket.com) two days ago asking them what is the point of Kieran Pollard? I still haven’t got a reply…
