Arshavin has been really dissappointing this game, their left back has been class though, as has their lone striker in the first half. Fabregas's pass to set up the 2nd goal was sublime.
Arshavin dreams of playing for Barcelona and it’s probably safe to say that it will always remain a dream; he got a lesson from Xavi and Iniesta tonight of what it takes to play for Barcelona.

Credit to Hiddink for opting to sit back tonight, for if the Russians employed the tactics from the Dutch game they would have lost 10-0. Different class.

I'm enjoying this tournament massively as a whole, most I've enjoyed one in a while.

Yet it looks depressingly like another Jerry win.
Villa and Torres against Metzelder and Mertesacker, should only be one winner there. If Spain don’t get stage fright, it will be a walk in the park.

Spain! Good effort boys.

Will definitely be cheering for them against the Jerries.

Yeah they were, but Spain have been by far the most convincing team in the tournie so far. Hope Cesc starts and they pull it off, the little guy was a maestro last night.

Don't think it's that bad a move, they've got plenty of quality in midfield to soften teams up and then Cesc has shown just how outstanding he can be as an impact sub late in the game. Spoilt for riches Spain, good to see them fulfilling their potential finally.

Still they're going to need some bottle to play like they have been in a final.
Cesc will probably start if Villa doesn't recover in time.

If he does, then what a midfield Silva, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas & Senna :jawdrop:

Yeah esspecially now that Villa is now ruled out of the final through the injury he picked up last night. That is a big blow imo, as Torres and Villa worked very well together, but not so effective when playing alone....his absence could really be crucial imo.

Spain only came alive yesterday when Aragones was forced to sub Fabregas for Villa...

Torres played on his own for the whole Premier League season, basically. I'm sure he can handle it.
I wasn't talking about his performances for Liverpool, his scoring record for Spain is much better when he has been partnered with Villa than with anyone else or by himself.

Oh yeah I have no doubt of that. Curiously, how many games has Torres played by himself for Spain since he moved to Liverpool? I don't remember him playing by himself much for Athletico, he generally had someone partnering him like Kezman and such, perhaps after spending a season adapting to it in England his form by himself would be severely improved as a lone striker.

Spain have so many attacking midfielders and wingers that I doubt it'll be as big a loss as everyone is making out anyway.

I'd imagine that its not all that many, but that's just a guess on my part.

I'm not sure how much of an impact it will have tbh, not a huge amount on the general abillity of the side, but could have some sort of mental implication on both teams...so you never know. Germany will probably be pleased that they only have to defend against one real striker I imagine.

Been watching the Euros in Fan Parks all round Europe the last month. Best experience was winning £76 on Germany v Portugal whilst sat in Vienna bricking it. Up there was the visit to the Amsterdam Turkish Fan Park to see Germany win in the 90th, got the hell out of there as soon as it was over.
