Am I the only brit who would rather see Germany win than Turkey?
You may well be the only Englishman. I'd guess that the Scots had no problems with 1970, 1990, etc.

There's nothing rational about it nowadays: this generation of the bosh seem as likeable as any team in the tournament, and more so than a few I could name. But ultimately there's too much history against the Germans so they're permanently top of what Scaly called the "anyone but them" list.

Nah, I was rooting for Jerry beforehand (we've had our disagreements over the years, but they tend not to stab English fans quite so much as yer Turks), but they've been really lucky tonight. Nature of the beast tho; we could never win with a keeper & centre-halves who're so palpably dire.

Lovely run from Lahm for the winner tbf as well.

I wasn't bothered who won at the start of the match, tbh. I'm enjoying this tournament as a neutral, and wasn't going to let my natural antipathy for our german friends shake me out of it.

Yet, I felt the Turks played the better football and showed great spirit overcoming their injury problems, and they were the underdogs anyway. So I was more then gutted come the end of it.

Didn't deserve to win with the way played in the first half..but in second ..was little ahead of turks and that was good for scoring 2 goals..Germany don't have a good second choice keeper !!!!!!!! Lehman..seems to be be really Struggling.... ..bring on Spain or Russia

Yeah, never rated Almunia as more than an above average keeper but wow, Jens has become a bit of a clown. Saves of an old old man last night. Leaving Hildebrand out could be bad news for Low,surely neither Enke or Adler could be thrown into the deep end now?

Looks like a game too far for the Russian Bear tonight. They've been utterly flat. Spain have looked very impressive tho, Fabregas has been at the centre of everything they've done.

Arshavin has been really dissappointing this game, their left back has been class though, as has their lone striker in the first half. Fabregas's pass to set up the 2nd goal was sublime.

Russia were good in the first half but no where to be seen in the second. Spain deserved the result and Fabergas was outstanding. Boggles me as to why he's been on the bench all tournament.

I'm enjoying this tournament massively as a whole, most I've enjoyed one in a while.

Yet it looks depressingly like another Jerry win.

If you go on semi-final performances, Jerry will get obliterated in the final. However, you just know they'll up their game and Spain will drop.

I got Spain in the work sweepstake too so double reason for supporting them.

In firm agreement with this, I've watched near enough every game, and very few have failed to provide any excitement, thank god England weren't involved tbh.

Though I'll be pleased enough with a Germany win, as they're who I pledged my support and prediction to at the start, and if they end up winning, then i'll have succesfully predicted the world up winners and the winners of Euro 08 and made myself a nice earning.

Don't think it's that bad a move, they've got plenty of quality in midfield to soften teams up and then Cesc has shown just how outstanding he can be as an impact sub late in the game. Spoilt for riches Spain, good to see them fulfilling their potential finally.

Still they're going to need some bottle to play like they have been in a final.
