Na seems stupid that Lyon should not get to play any football in the next week because he chose not to play Origin whereas every other player in the league who isn't playing Origin is available for club selection.

It's a hard argument to have though because any points I make could easily be countered by, "if he'd declared it earlier then it wouldn't be a problem" and I agree with that. Still seems stupid for him not to play though.

What a weird week. In ordinary circumstances with players available, wouldn't be making half those tips.

Under NRL rules every player must make themselves available for Orgin football, unless they retire from rep football and ask to be consider for non selection at the start of the season.

Appartently he is just over Orgin football and their is fair bit of talk he is over NRL football as well. The only thing he basically wants is title and thats all that keeping him here.

After playing a handful of Orgins he feels he got that goal out of way. Anyway who saw him play for Australia and NSW in the last couple seasons could see he was going through the motions. Even in most NRL matches he basically just goes through the motions. The only time he really ever gave 100% last season was during the semis.

If we didn't let Bell go I would be happy to just see him go. As he clearly doesn't have the heart anymore. But that would leave us short in centres. Mind you reckon Tony Williams will be better centre then winger. But Williams/Matai combination pretty average.

Seems to be a never ending number of reasons to hate Jamie Lyon.
Never had any problems over here. Came across as a decent, if a bit reserved, bloke and made a bucketload of friends. From his spell down here, I'd say he's far from a dislikable person. The main reason I think he flourished the way he did is the lower profile he enjoyed over here and since he dominated over like no one since Ellery Hanley scored 55 tries in a season, he will be under much more scrutiny now than he was at Parra. What it looks like to me is that Jamie's not happy with that and he has shown, for the second time, a rash and childish way of dealing with it. He's not done anything grievously wrong, just showed that he hasn't learnt from the way he left Parramatta, and that makes me want to pity him more than hate him.
