Well, this series will be the acid test, I would reckon. Doubt they'll be looking at him for a Test spot so if he bowls well in this series, reckon he'll be considered as Hogg's replacement.

Amazing how under-rated Hogg is, though eh? Only realise what a hole he left when he retired.
I doubt that will eventuate. The thought of Cameron White bowling makes me want to convulse.

Yeah, Hogg has left a big hole but we certainly have the one-day bowling stocks I reckon and you can get away with 4 seamers a lot easier in the shorter format than you can in the longer format. But yeah Hogg has been criminally underrated in the shorter format for years and I don't expect that to change any time soon.

White, from what I've seen in recent times isn't fit to be a part-time bowler let alone our spinner of choice.

Xavier Doherty or Nathan Hauritz should be in the squad if you wanted a spinner.

Also does anyone else think Steve Magoffin would be close to the Australia side.

Considering Johnson is picked as our third seamer, I think he'd be close..

Johnson has been pretty top notch at ODIs for quite some time though, hasn't he?

Got into the Test side in the back of ODI form pretty much last year.

Yeah he's been pretty decent, better economy than I expected.

Always suprises me when he gets decent figures.

I still think Magoffin should be in the squad or close to it anyways.

I dunno, mate. I agree with you but all of the signs point towards Cam White being used down the order and as the spinner. Seriously, in terms of form, what basis do the Aussie have for picking him at all in the 20/20 and for the ODI series? None from my chair so I reckon they're upping him for a reason.

White doesnt even rate himself  rarely bowls himself
bowls David Hussey more tbh

if all of Windies main players play... ie. Gayle Shiv Sarz.. and Symo Lee aren't playing for Aus.. (well Symo isnt for sure) it sure will test Australia....

guys like Marsh Watson White *bites nails

am a bit worried with our bowling attack atm... with what im hearing.. guys like Hopes Watson White .... world class batsmen can really dominate em
gotta go with Lee Johnson Bracken Clark... then make up the 5th.. IMO

according to this site the team is
http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,23913822-23212,00.html

Marsh
Watson
Ponting*
Clarke
Hussey
Haddin+
White
Hopes
Lee
Johnson
Bracken

i dont dig it really...
you have 20 overs between Hopes Watson White Clarke...... it looks capable.. but really, the chances of em actually putting on pressure is minimal.. sure they are acceptable.. but theres no pressure.. lots of easy singles etc. .... ehhhh

edit - on second thoughts, it probably isnt that bad..

Would rather have Ricky Ponting bowl than Cameron White tbh.

If that is the team then it has unbeliavable batting depth, Hopes at 8!!!.

Teed up a work from home day tomorrow, so it's all systems go for tonight!

Should be top notch.

Looking forward to seeing Puddle (little swamp) and Watto open.

For sure.

The Windies will bat first..which always happens when I set the time aside to watch an ODI. Anyway, with the Windies games, the lunch break is an absolute killer for Aussie viewers. I can never make it through without dozing off. It's like the lunch break for the Ashes series in England when I was a kid in 1989 - could never make it through the lunch time fare of Graham Kennedy's Coast to Coast.

Hoping Australia bats first just for the pleasure of watching Watto bat before I fall asleep. I'll watch it tomorrow anyway, but it's more enjoyable live.
