Probably a good thing they went for Mahela over Pomersbach. An experienced head is needed here to get them out of this.
Wasn't one of the main pros of this tournament the fact that young players would be getting experience in high-pressure situations, though? The selection just stinks in general.

I think emphasis being young Indian players rather than young foreign guys.

What price a Chennai-Rajasthan final at the beginning? :)
Beginning of the tournie? Probably heaps, but beginning of the finals series shouldn't have been huge. I know people were all slurping the Kings XI and how good they looked but Chennai did do the double over them so this match isn't that much of a boilover for mine.

The poll on Pulse at the eighth over: Is this the end for Kings XI Punjab
The result: 84% Yes/

Dhoni's such a smart captain. He's come in to this match with some well thought strategies, and his team has lifted for him.

Awesome.

Nah, I meant beginning of the tournie.

Like you said, Chennai have already beaten them twice so a third win wouldn't be a shock. Also anything can happen once you get to the knock out stages.

Awesome if Dhoni and Warne take their teams to the final. I think they've been the best captains.

It is a shock. The Kings were in great batting form and also looked a well-balanced side with a strong bowling attack. And they had Shaun Marsh.

This IS a shock!

Yeah, you wouldn't want the guy who averages 152 and has been dismissed once for the entire tournament. Would be silly.

Well played Romesh. He's retrieved his batting 'Powar', but a little too late.

For those who've been watching Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy in the early 2000's, it's flashback.

Great finish by Powar. 113 to get should be a formality but Bangalore managed to keep Chennai down to 114 in a previous match while chasing a low score. Kings XI not totally out of this. Vidyut and Parthiv at the top need to get a decent start to ease the nerves.

This pitch, I find, is not easy to bat on. The taller fast bowlers were getting disconcerting bounce. Sreesanth and Irfan have a chance, but whether VRV Singh and Wilkin can use it is a question- with Hopes, the answer is a stern NO.

What happened to Shaun Marsh? That shot he played was dreadful! Three wickets down, man in form, and he swings loosely to edge a Ntini delivery on his stumps. Possibly the Citi Moment Of Success (pardon the product placement) here.

Maybe he just switched off after claiming the Orange Cap?

I was about to come in this thread and say Lee has to dominate for Punjab to have any chance.

Forgot he's in WI atm lol.

I still don't reckon its completely game, set match. You never know.

He would have nailed that shot every other time he's played it in the entire tournament. The ball kept a touch low and he mi**** it. That's cricket.

He actually missed that shot 2-3 times during his innings. The pitch was a bit different, and Ntini was bowling with good angle.
