The Kings XI should open the transfer window and dispatch James Hopes to Bangalore. We've had (hopefully they too have had) enough of this. Dreadful, match-losing bowling.
Bit OTT ;)

Have to say though that I've been surprised at Hopes bowling through the tournament. I thought he would be a lot better.

Haha WHAT?! He miscued a shot! He's not perfect! Come onnnnnnnnnnnn
You mean he's not perfect against the weakest bowling attack ever, of a team that defeated them twice, in a match that matters? He was outscored by some less-than-average limited-overs batsmen here!

It's posts like these that make me glad I live in OT.

I'm not his biggest fan by any stretch of the imagination but Punjab have had a great tournament and he is a useful player. If your team has one bad match and then you start getting rid of people, what message does that send the rest of the players?
The Punjab Kings XI have had some (now) stupid management staff out there. I respect Tom Moody's contribution as coach of every team he's led, but things have gone drastically wrong here. Be it 'sheilding' Yuvraj, Mahela and Tanmay in league matches, or bowling James Hopes or Chawla getting hit for most sixes in the IPL or an in-form Pommers benched, their decision-making has left more than a lot to be desired. This was a good team to begin with, but when the people making decisions make stupid ones as these, you can't blame the players all the time.

A lot better? Looking back at posts here, over the years, especially by Aussies, I wonder if he's any good. He's not rated by commentators, journalists or even fans.

I don't think you should blame anyone. They played great cricket over the tournament, they messed up a bit in the semi, these things happen in sport. If the toss had gone differently and they had bowled first the exact opposite could have happened. You need to relax and not look for scapegoats.

Yeah, I thought he would be decent because from what I saw of the tri-series ODI's for Australia, he was extremely economical. And generally players who are good enough to play for Australia are excellent. They have to play well just to get into (and stay in) such as strong team.

Did anyone notice Irfan smashing some roadblocks on his way back to the pavilion? I wonder what will happen then.

Haha yes, the cones. He was so pissed, never seen Pathan like that. Was obviously not happy at all with Jayawardene.

Kings XI - 44/5 in 9 overs against the weakest bowling attack in the IPL. Dreadful.
On what basis the CSK bowling was the weakest in IPL ?

If Nitni, Murali, Balaji, Gony, Morkel is the weakest then someone please tell me what is a strong attack ?

How about: RP Singh, Afridi, Ojha, Vinaykumar & Sanjay Bangar (for the Deccan Chargers)?

You know you are in good shape when Rohit Sharma tops your bowling averages.

Agreed - a bit harsh on Punjab... I don't feel any of their decisions for the final was unexpected either
Moody has done a fantastic job throughout the tournament

Nice match up

Jaipur vs Chennai .... two teams with a nice bunch of Indian players

Best of luck to both the teams :thumbup1:

Probs need to read through this whole thread to understand that.
Haha, that thread became so dire, so quickly.

Anyway, nice win to Chennai. Being a Tamil boy myself, I am (sort of) supporting them in this tournament (besides, looking for even more tenuous connections, my grandfather was raised there) although I would not be too fussed if Rajasthan (as I expect) bring it home.

Am just hoping for a good final, as opposed to the one-sided semi-final matches.
