Pleased for Saj today, 4-61 with three more wickets up for grabs and potential for achieving his best first-class figures in an innings.

Always felt damn awkward about that one. I want Plunkett to be seen for being a poor bowler. But obviously any father who puts their son's cricket career ahead of their own health (which is likely to be far more important to the son than his own cricket career) is acting for the worst.

Plunkett Snr should come first under all circumstances, but ideally I'd prefer Plunkett Jnr to be shown to be a poor bowler without having to sacrifice his career.

But his most recent ODI record shows something like 7 games, loads of wickets. His supporters can still claim him hard-done-by. If he were to be recalled and belted, that defence would, rightly, disappear.

Norwood's on Fire
He did okay in a couple of ODIs from memory, seems to remember storms, rain, lights doing their part and him bowling a couple of belters

Plunkett only did well because circumstances conspired in his favour, of course, but for a 22-year-old to finish his career with his last 9 games as this would be plain wrong, especially when this is a far more accurate reflection of his ability.

economy is still like 5.7 in those 9 games though

So Sajid Mahmood shouldn't be getting batsman out?
Eh? What's that to do with anything? Mahmood presumably didn't get them out, it's exceedingly likely they gifted their wickets, useless buggers. McGrath's been doing it all season FFS.

That Rolleyes was poor form, regardless of any of this.

Yes, but some (often those same people who tell you that Plunkett is a promising bowler) will tell you that an abysmal economy-rate like that doesn't matter if you are taking wickets at such an extreme strike-rate.

If you've actually seen video evidence of McGrath and others "gifting" their wickets then I can take this post seriously.

Good to see Amjad Khan get a wicket in his second over back from injury :)

Edit: Ha, BBC Sport get it wrong and it's actually Denly out for a duck with Amjad sitting comfortably in the pavilion. Hopefully he'll stay there for a while...
