The thing is, you were 5 goals down, and came back and gave them a scare. Then I stopped listening half-way through the third, go to indoor cricket and my mate says they lost by 90+. I just can't see how that happened.

Essendon need a midfield. Seriously.

I was a Neitz fan, but sometimes I'd forget he was still playing because he was so far from the player he was. Should have hung them up last year IMO.

Our midfield is ****house atm but i believe will be bloody good 2-3 years down the track. Houli, Stanton, Myers, Hislop, Reimers, Watson, Lonergan have all shown plenty at AFL level. They just lack the experience atm. By then Mcveigh will be in his prime at 29 and our captain.

Essendon's midfield doesn't seem to believe in defensive pressure, they just back themselves to be better than other teams.

The other thing is that teams have worked out how the Bombers plan on using the footy, and now they just back off on the man with the ball, rather than leaving their man to put pressure on him. The Bombers aim to then release that player, and continue to move the ball in that fashion. Now opposition are just staying with their man, and waiting for the pressure on the ball carrier to come from behind.
