Thanks for the reply, when does the Lions game start? Key, Shah and Bopara are really pressing for positions now, still have the feeling that Shah is the front-runner.
It starts tomorrow I believe and yeah, I agree that Shah is the next-in-line. He's had a decent start to the season as well, and hasn't really done anything wrong when he's played for England. I was so annoyed that Strauss made that century in the 3rd test against NZ - to my mind it's only papering over the cracks but he'll probably get at least another series now. Would like to see Shah take his place, or perhaps Key to open with Cook and enable Vaughan to move down to 3.

Meanwhile, I find the fact that Somerset were reduced to 24/6 on the first day at Taunton highly amusing - perhaps they've finally managed to inject a bit of life into the pitch?

Davies...averaging >23, has there ever been any England call up talk about him? BTW, this is Mark Davies.
His stats are phenomenal, aren't they. Trouble is he doesn't stay fit for long enough to come into contention. Not in the last couple of seasons, anyway. I haven't seen him, but I gather his lack of pace is reckoned to count against him if he ever played on test wickets. He must get the ball to do all sorts though.

EDIT
Aged 27, Davies has played a grand total of 57 FC matches, which says something about his track record, fitness-wise. Shame.

Moeen Ali nearing a ton. I guess scoring a ton against a Uni team is the equivalent to scoring one against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe? Hopefully he can continue his form against the proper teams.

Fair to say its been a bowlers day today, only Pietersen getting a ton in the CC, even with the bat some of the bowlers have done well (Clare and Lungley getting their maiden half centuries to dig Derbyshire out of the poo)

Nah, no chance, Bangladesh would destroy these Uni sides.

Brilliant stuff from Kent's top order again - I expect to see Dexter playing in the next match, probably in place of Walker although Stevens and Denly have both been poor so far as well. So glad we have depth in batting.

As a side note, it was nice to see Saggers' figures yesterday

Saggers 21.0 5 54 3
Much more like the Saggs of old - keeping the RR below 3 an over and taking some wickets to boot. Probably has to be one of my favourite Kent players during the time I've been a fan, he's like a less successful Shaun Pollock. Always a good laugh watching him bat as well.

Edit: Time for an avatar change in tribute to the man.

Flintoff in surviving 2 balls shocker. More to follow, probably very soon.

Yep, 5 and out, pair of ducks for the big man.

Bowled by Gary Park, would be a new low if Law hadnt been bowled by him not long before.....

Flintoff may suck with the bat but he's doing very nicely with the ball - 3/7 in 6 overs in Durham's second innings.

Impressed with the fight shown by Kent's middle/lower order today, but they shouldn't have to keep digging the top order out of trouble. 5/4 just isn't acceptable AFAIC. Walker, Denly and Stevens in particular all need to get their act together.

With Sussex needing 215 off 24 overs, as good a time as any for Alistair Brown to be brought on.

Surrey are a bowler short (Butcher didn't get a knock), which may represent a glimmer of hope for Sussex - they're four down though.
