Erk. Sacrificial wicket Alshaun goes as planned to appease the BT gods, but Bromby fails to make it out of the first ten overs as well, making a stilted 8 from 18. As so often this season, it's down to Platt and Janes...

End of Over 9: 46-2, runrate=5.11, reqrunrate=4.10 (213-10)
Ball 5-0-22-2
Platt* 36 (35 balls)
Janes 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Bromby c. Taggart b. Ball 8 (FOW: 46/2)

Edit: Ack, Janes goes for just 13 and all of a sudden I'm in trouble. Don't like my chances from here. 133 left to get and only Platt left who's any good.

Wah wah wah. Suck it in and be a man for once. I'm so incredibly bored of hearing your pathetic sob stories that litter these battrick and from the pavillion threads. If you don't like the engine, stop playing the ****ing things or, even better, be constructive and build an alternative game that doesn't have such a "pathetic match engine".
Oh look it's one of those rants about ranting. How sweet. Instead of whining and deifying over NZ cricketers in equal measure why don't you stop watching the personification of mediocrity and go and become one of those once every couple of decade players - a world-class NZ cricketer?

And back to BT. I won.

Beat MOD-hexogen's side today with ratings of:

Code:
		RDX Boggles
Top Order: sensational quality
Middle Order: exceptional proficient
Lower Order: woeful worthless
Seam Bowling: exquisite remarkable
Spin Bowling: elite exceptional
Fielding: mediocre woeful

I'd be spitting blood if I'd lost that one. My morale was actually desolate before this game, quite looking forward to having everything reset so I can see my new ratings after a season of getting thumped every game.

And I do sooooo much ranting and deifying of NZ cricketers. Not my style I'm afraid.

I was thinking about my post last night, and realised that I was being a bit harsh on you. Obviously, you are skewed towards games with a flawed match engine - it must be some terrible personality trait that you suffer from.

After all, despite you being the undisputed Scrabble champion on here, there's a good chance that you could draw E,E,E,E,E,E,E on your opening go (the only legitimate word being 'EE' I believe). Given such a diabolical start, I'd wager that even your obvious scrabbling superiority would be severely tested. I realise you could re-rack, but if your opponent conversely drew a 7 letter word (or 8 letter word containing an E, which of course he/she doesn't have (e.g. C,A,Z,I,Q,U,S for the word Caziques)), then a comeback would be laboured.

Any game that requires even a modicum of luck would be a 'flawed engine' under your assessment I feel.

Personally, I quite like the idea of the unpredictible - that the lesser team can win in the FA Cup, that Bangladesh can defeat the World Champions and that the Cymru Gurgitators can defeat Scaly Piscine XI - regardless of how little you care for the Battrick engine.

Oh great I'm now in an automatic promotion spot in the ODs... second XI time methinks - don't wanna be in I.1 yet.

Secured the title with a 10-wicket win over Batletico.

Batletico 225 (48 overs)
Whitehorne 6-29 (9), Lancaster 2-42 (9), Dissanayake 1-42, Howland 1-56

Asterix XI 226/0 (38.2)
Howland 124* (98), Ashton 97* (132)

Code:
	        [B]Asterix XI Batletico[/B]
Top Order: miraculous exquisite
Middle Order: exquisite superb
Lower Order: feeble abysmal
Seam Bowling: exquisite quality
Spin Bowling: exquisite strong
Fielding: mediocre mediocre
Nice debut from Howland and decent ratings on PAN. Should clear my current best Batstats ratings by 20+ if I GFI next week.
